Singapore Airlines A388 9V-SKA operating SIN-LHR has just diverted into MAN.

It would seem LHR is foggy.

Qatar Airways B77W A7-BAF operating Doha-Montreal is diverting to Manchester now as a medical emergency. Was over the west coast of Ireland before it turned back.

And now BA A380 G-XLEA operating LAX-LHR has declared emergency over north wales and asked hold time at LHR incase MAN needs to be used.

Problems at LHR today? A Virgin A343 from EWR and a Virgin 744 from JFK appear to be going straight into MAN and an Etihad 773 and Qatar A346 are heading north. Looks as though MAN is much more welcoming to diversions this morning.

EK7 A388 also going to MAN a few LH narrowbodies to BHX and 2xBA long hauls to.Cardiff

EK007 did finally land at LHR but did start heading to MAN and even appeared on the MAN boards. LHR then had the brainwave to use both runways to land and hey presto, problem solved.

LHR must have give long delays though for Virgin to send the VS2 and VS46 straight to MAN without even attempting LHR.

Incidently this also means MAN has seen 7 different Virgin Atlantic aircraft today.

G-VROY B744 operated the VS75
G-VXLG B744 operated the VS73
EI-DEO A320 operated the Little red from MAN
EI-EZV A320 diverted in on the ABZ-LHR flight
G-VSUN A343 diverted in on the EWR-LHR
G-VROC B744 diverted in on the VS46
G-VAIR is currently inbound from Manilla as VS814P for paint.

I think 7 VS aircraft in 1 day is an all time record for MAN. :drinks:

NATO35 a B707 AWACS ZH101 (the one with a big dish on top) has diverted to Manchester from Waddington due to low visibility.

No idea how long it will stay for.

Some of the more interesting diverts we have had in MAN over the past few months.

These photo's are NOT mine, and will remove them if requested by owner of photo's. Some have watermarks to credit them, as Ive been passed them by a friend, I can't credit the ones without as I don't know who took them.

Manchester has taken 4 Heathrow diverts so far this morning.

1 BA B747, a BA B777, United B787 and a VS A330.

SV61YYZ-JED B777-200 HZ-AKH diverting in due to medical case. Joins HZ-AKI on the ground making this the first time 2 SV aircraft on the ground at MAN.

British Airways A318 G-EUNA operating BA2 JFK-LCY stopped off at MAN for 1 hour this morning due to 'technical defects'.

EI-DEM A320 operating EI393 HAM-DUB diverted in just before noon due to a medical emergency.

Just the 3 diverts today.

G-CIVT B744 BA242 MEX-LHR
G-YMMP B772 BA18 ICN-LHR
G-EUYG A320 BA701 ARN-LHR

All departed back to LHR now.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
