Monday 28/03/11

As reported by Lbaspotter on the LBA forum Leeds/Bradford received 3x inbound diverts from Manchester this morning due to Fog.

BE471 = From Belfast City - Dash 8-Q400, G-ECOM
BE862 = From Southampton - Embraer 195, G-FBEE
BD1582 = From Edinburgh - Embraer 145, G-EMBP

Did Manchester loose any other traffic this morning does anybody know?

Does anyone know what happend at MAN this afternoon around 1400hrs to cause 2 TOM flights to divert into LBA and 1 into EMA, to my knowledge?!

Some of todays divertions were:

Monarch's A321 G-OZBT operating the 533 service from Palma to MAN - Diverted to Birmingham.
Monarch's A321 G-OZBP operating the 581 service from Faro to MAN - Diverted to Liverpool.
Thomson's B738 G-FDZG operating the 303 service from Enfidha to MAN - Diverted to East Midlands.
Thomson's A320 G-OOPU operating the 1PE service from Salzburgh to MAN - Diverted to Leeds/Bradford.
Thomson's B752 G-OOBE operating the 4TE service from Ibiza to MAN - Diverted to Leeds/Bradford.
Jet2's B733 G-CELG operating the 880 service from Alicante to MAN - Diverted to Leeds/Bradford.

Inbound diversion from Leeds Bradford ~ LS196 from Prague.

Elswhere, Jet2.com's based aircraft seem to be having problems once again.

The following was taken off the Mancehester Airport website at 15:30.

LS791 06:50 Rome Final Boarding
LS765 09:05 Funchal Final Boarding
LS169 14:20 Ibiza Cancelled

Did something happen at MAN this afternoon around 1300GMT?

It seems that TOM60E may have had a missed approach (or have I answered my own question?) whilst 4 - 6 other aircraft were put in a waiting circle and around other areas.

If anyone wants to see this, go to flightradar (where I got my information from) and select the playback with the time selected at 1200UTC.

quote="The Pole"]G-LSAB currently heading south from MAN to PMI as EXS831, over Birmingham and still climbing through 20,000ft, so her issues yesterday must have been resolved, fingers crossed. Anyone know why she had to turn back to MAN twice whilst doing the LBA-PMI EXS257 service?[/quote]

I spoke to soon, EXS831 now heading back north. The issue obviously not sorted! Unless the captain has gone back for his butties!

Well them Manchester LS831 passengers heading out to Palma this morning are going to be really happy now. They have been on 1 tech aircraft returned to Manchester this morning but now there going to have the pleasure off having a bus ride over the hill/M62 and catch a there flight out off Leeds/Bradford.

Meanwhile the inbound LS832 service this evening will also be diverted into Leeds and passengers then bused back to Manchester

LS831 Leeds Bradford to Palma - Departs: 14:30
LS832 Palma to Leeds Bradford - Arrives: 20:45

A Pakistan International Airlines aircraft heading from Islamabad to Manchester has diverted into Istanbul because of a bomb threat.

Jet2.com, Boeing 757-200WL, G-LSAL is currently diverting into Manchester now operating the LS158 from Cyprus-Paphos to Glasgow.

Don't know the reasons as to why. But would take a wild guess its for operational reasons.

It looks like Jet2 are experiencing some problems this evening.

Their Manchester - Bodrum 983 service, G-LSAM has been delayed by 4hrs 35mins. It's schedueled departure time was 14:20 and has recently departed at 18:55.
Their Tel Aviv - Manchester 906 servive, G-LSAC has been delayed by 6hrs 30mins. It's schedueled arrival time was 22:00 and is now due at 04:30.

I think it was tech problems with both these aircraft, G-LSAM in MAN and G-LSAC out in Tel Aviv.

Hi Guys
Today's (16/9) Thomson flight out to Corfu scheduled at 15:20 (tom2564) is already showing a 2 hour delay. Any idea why this is?? My son is on the return from Corfu tonight.
Any info / insight greatly appredciated.

Thanks

Nothing exciting Manchester wise, but, PK785 LHE-LHR B777W has arrived at Manchester. He didn't even hold so must have been given a long hold time.

....and the old Jet2 from LBA I see.

We also had a Kenyan Airways B777-200 and Jet Airways B77W arrive tonight. Like the Pakistan B77W, they didn't hold at LHR, just came straight to MAN.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
