Summer 2019

TUI has announced a big increase in its summer 2019 programme with additonal aircraft being based at CWL and DSA (and at BHX too I believe and possibly elsewhere).

Given the additional capacity at CWL and DSA in summer 2019 I'm slightly surprised that EXT has not been given some sort of increase too. Perhaps it will when the summer 2019 programme is announced with the use of non-based and/or more third party aircraft.

TUI have also added Kefalonia, Heraklion and Antalya for summer 2019 at Bournemouth so EXT might be in for some good news. Should know soon.

Summer 2019

Further to my previous post, a poster on another forum says that TUI will be operating new flights to Zakynthos, Heraklion and Antalya. I've not had time to check this out yet.

Jerry - looking at your post #1 in this thread when a year ago you reported the summer 2018 programme, this seems to be an overall gain of three flights per week.

That's a superb programme from Exeter!
Yep they'll get a new airline as well in Norwegian and possibly Eurowings, Albastar or Air Europa for a PMI flight and possibly Freebird returning as well.

Seriously? He kicked off because he couldn't get a bacon roll! I hope TUI have banned him!

Jerry,
The EXT based TUI B737 will work 15 rotations per week from Exeter, as it currently does this summer.
A few corrections to the above for summer 2019 -
Faro - 1 Weekly Thursdays (EXT based TUI B737)
Antalya - 1 Weekly Fridays currently shown TBA
Dalaman - 2 Weekly Sunday and Thursday currently shown TBA
Total number of weekly flights from EXT in summer 2019 will be 21 - an increase of 3 flights per week compared to this year.
Regards
Mark

Ok thanks! I'd imagine the Thursday Dalaman and the Friday Antalya may end up being operated by Freebird like at CWL this year.

I would have thought all three Turkish rotations will be resourced by Freebird.

I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read somewhere that next summers Monday EXT-LPA rotation will be resourced by Norwegian.

It may well be as that is down as TBA at the moment.

Depending on aircraft type on the TBA routes, that could turn out to be an additional 4,500-5,000 seats a month for 5-6 months next year; say 20,000-25,000 more passengers with TUI than in 2018. That would be a big boost to EXT's passage back to 1 mppa.

I understand that TUI UK take delivery of their first B737 MAX in November, which will be based at Manchester. However it will be a while before the B737-MAX's displace the existing fleet of B737-800's at regional airports....

As for summer 2019 - expect both the Gran Canaria and Tenerife rotations to be diagrammed for Norwegian B737-800's and the three weekly Turkish rotations to be resoursed by Freebird A320's - subject to the usual caveats.

Just seen that Norwegian are cutting- bases in Tennerife. Las palmas. Palma. Plus 3 others. The Exeter flights to Tenerife and l las palmas are due to be ops by Norwegian this summer. Ops for tui.

When will they close? Before this summer?

Could make things interesting this summer, especialy as the Exeter based TUI B737 is already resourced to cover summer rotations to Zante on Monday afternoons and Heraklion on Tuesday afternoons.

If the Norwegian position is correct as reported, this will also affect the TUI gameplan at other UK airports. Now that TUI are beginning to receive their first deliveries of the new B737 MAX, maybe time to slightly amend the fleet plan and retain a B737 NG this summer to resource otherwise uncovered rotations from various UK airports each week, including EXT and CWL?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
