What fans are they carrying as both sets of supporters have to use different airports, due to fifa rules.

When did that rule come in? Manchester hosted the Champions league final a few years ago, and the airport was rammed with both sets of supporters, still to this day is Manchesters busiest ever day.

I thought the rule was that the host venue needed two airports within a certain small distance of the stadium

I'm not sure. It could've been a condition of the bid because Cardiff Airport is quite small. With MAN they could designate Terminal 2 for Juventus and Terminal 3 for Real Madrid but they can't with CWL so need to include BRS .

Technically Real Madrid fans but there will be mixed up flights at both airport's especially for hub flights like BCN or AMS.

Yes the rule to separate fans to two dofferent airports is in place but can hardly be enforced.

Bristol is expecting only Spanish fans. Vueling flights are coming from Spain so that covers the rule. Now Italians travelling from Spain......what about them

There is also a Ryanair flight from Madrid to Cardiff also, so, there won't be 100% seperation.

BRS are expecting an additional 7k passengers on Thursday and Friday preceding the day of the match. Thats atleast 50 extra flights in those 2 days. Do they have so many free slots over and above their summer schedule? It will be a nightmare.

The entire staff car park in Old terminal is being cleared for the entire week for coaches. Dont want to be around singing chanting spanish fans for those days. Cant wait for the damn thing to be over. Monumental headache.

I meant more the Ryanair seems to be a pure football special rather than an existing flight.
Yeah it is. IB have just extended there usual service. I don't how Ryanair got away with those Madrid flights, though they did put them on sale at about the semi final stage.

easyJet operates daily from Rome FCO and

Some will no doubt arrive on the easyjet flights from such places as Rome, Venice, Pisa and Ryanair from Bergamo and Venice, but these flights are usually pretty full anyway so the football won't generate many additional passengers above the normal level, just a very nice payday for the airlines, looking at some of the fares already being quoted.

So as with some Spanish fans using CWL on regular services so too will some Italian fans use BRS.

Is next weeks mayfly going to reflect the final tally of flights expected at Bristol for the football finals?

Is next weeks mayfly going to reflect the final tally of flights expected at Bristol for the football finals?
In the past when there have been big rugby matches or things like the NATO conference and BRS has been used as a sort of overspill airport, Mayfly has tended to reflect the aircraft operating in connection with the event although, of course, there can be operational alterations, cancellations after Mayfly has been published.

The mayfly for next week shows 33 flights from Madrid from 19:00 hrs on Friday until 18:00 on sat. About 12 MAD flights in early hours of sat.its going to be a crazy night fri to sat. Vast majority are Vueling.

And 57 departures between midnight and 08:00 on Sunday morning. Most of them are the MAD flights after the match. it will be chaos at departures which has huge problems anyway with very slow movement of bags in security. add either celebrating or despondent (drunk too) fans to that equation and you dont want to be there.

My plans got altered slightly as one of the minibus companies had to cancel 3 trips and refunded me but will be getting nice discount when I rebook them.
