Definitely remember seeing TC-MAO 738 at the drome of KTHY. I know they had a couple of A320s, but can't recall ever seeing them at Birmingham. Of course I may be wrong

Cheers

Karl

As far as I'm aware, AA have only ever served ORD and JFK from BHX, (PHL too if you count the now absorbed US network).

DTW may have been a same flight number connection via ORD however?

Detroit was an extension of the Chicago service on the same number.

Around a similar time the Continental service from EWR also had the same flight number as the inbound flight from LAX.

I used to enjoy seeing Los Angeles via New York followed by Detroit via Chicago on the Teletext arrivals page :)

Just done some digging and KTHY did operate into BHX although didn't say which routes.
The fleet included B738 and A320/1 amongst 1or 2 other types.
Question is where did Pegasus and KTHY fly to?
I have a feeling both airlines operated the Ercan route during different seasons.

This is the list I have of routes no longer served since 1986 :-

East Midlands ?? Why would you fly from BHX to EMA ?
There used to be flights between CWL and BRS a long time ago. Maybe an airline did a double drop in the days before the motorway but also sold tickets on the BHX-EMA leg?

Who flew BHX-Dallas & Detroit? They sound like one-off charters rather than a series of charters/scheduled services.

I think at some time is the when I was a lad past, we also served Alderney and Wick. Going even further back and there was Blackpool and Bembridge.

Wasn't Exeter served by Jersey European at one stage? Going further back to the 70s, Dan Air operated a cross country route which i think was Bournemouth to Newcastle via BHX and Lpool or Manchester using HS748s.

Heathrow was served i the 70's by BEA and later by British Midland sheds. I flew
on both Viscount & BAC111 LHR-BHX. Ray,Don't think AI ever flew to Bombay from
BHX,only Delhi via Moscow on 707's, always approx 24hr's late-remember them well!!!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
