I’m wondering if they may wait until the next review before any changes. The second faro replaces the thurs Dubrovnik flight that was dropped last week. Incidentally faro has been dropped from both Cardiff and Bristol for summer 2022 which is strange

Suprised they have not announced FNC to operate 2x weekly as they have done at other TUI bases, but Faro is good.
Did those other bases already have a TUI Madeira fight or flights? BRS doesn't have a TUI FNC, only easyJet flies there.

Does seem a bit odd. If it's a reaction to Jet2 operating Faro when they commence their services I'm surprised that TUI would roll over. I can't remember if Thomas Cook operated Faro.

easyJet and Ryanair between them usually have over 20 weekly return flights so a couple more from Jet2 would not make that much difference. In fact, a few years ago Ryanair reduced their peak summer from 12 to 7 weekly with easyJet having around 16 weekly most peak summers.

As for CWL, Wizz will be operating Faro so if Jet2 have affected TUI maybe so have Wizz, although I find either unlikely.

Forget that. I've just seen that BHX to FNC is a new route for TUI.

TUI has never operated FNC from BRS. The only airline that operated FNC for a few years was Air 2000. They dropped it and Easyjet took it on from memory.
My wife and I flew with Air 2000 (A320) from BRS to Funchal in the mid 1990s.

I've looked at my timetables for this century and the last regular charter flights I can find to FNC were in summer 2008 every Monday. The airline is not shown but it was almost certainly still First Choice Airways (the new name for Air 2000 from 2004), but the following tour companies are shown in the airport timetable as using the flights: Airtours, Aspro, Atlantic Holidays, Eclipse Direct, First Choice, Flythomascook.com, Holiday Options, MyTravel, Portland Holidays, Sovereign, Sunset, Thomas Cook, Thomson.

As you rightly say, when easyJet came onto the route the following year the charter flights were axed.

Hopefully just a glitch but there are big cutbacks for summer 2022 - Alicante , faro , girona , chania and Sal gone and big reductions in palma, dalaman, pula and Antalya.

Below is the number of weekly TUI flights comparing August 2021 (the first figure) with August 2022.

Jet2 will operate over 30 routes when it is in full swing including a number where TUI appear to have reduced or axed its own frequencies - see note in green re Jet2 on these routes. That said, Jet2 is operating many other routes that TUI have not reduced or axed, and it has to be remembered too that easyJet and/or Ryanair operate to many of the routes in the TUI programme.

Ignoring the additional Orlando weekly flight in 2022, there are reductions in short-haul routes totalling 14 weekly flights. That would amount to the work for one aircraft each week as TUI tends to operate mainly two return flights per aircraft per day. That might suggest a reduction of one based aircraft. It seems from this that summer 2022 might now only need four narrow-bodies and one wide-body based.

At present, of the axed TUI routes for summer 2022, only Sal and possibly Chania (depending on Ryanair's plans for this will-we?-won't we? route) will not be operated by any airline in summer 2022.

Addendum

There is a post on the Dried Fruit saying that the five routes mentioned by Marko in #1,506 above have been dropped by TUI.

The original poster isn’t always correct so hopefully it’s a glitch. I can’t see Antalya staying once a week when they are launching twice a week from Exeter for example

At the moment Antalya will be 8 x weekly in summer 2022:

4 easyJet, 3 Jet2 and 1 TUI. In 2019 I think it was 9 x weekly in total and 8 x weekly in 2018 in total.

What I would find strange is that tui would be dropping those routes / frequencies where they have no or little competition for summer 2022 but intend to operate them this summer. Looking at the am schedule for summer 22 still calls for 5 short haul aircraft. Got to be a glitch surely ?

TUI can be as capricious as Ryanair when it comes to early versions of their timetable for the following year. We know in the past that they have axed routes or reduced frequencies after initially advertising them, and have also introduced routes not shown in the original release.

I agree it does seem odd surrendering to competitors what is likely to be a popular route such as Antalya. At the moment Sal is operating this summer and through the coming winter and if that has been axed for summer 2022 it can't be down to Jet2 or anyone else because no other airline operates the route from BRS.

I still make 5 short haul and one 787 on Mondays in 22 - am mon - ibz , mah , nap , skg and lpa plus cun . Some of the routes have changed from a pm to am and vice versa.

At CWL they have 1 of the flights down as other carrier so they could add a non based one at a later date. Any idea if any short haul is on a 787?

The 787 is down to fly cancun on Mondays and Fridays and Orlando on weds and sat. Every day has at least 5 short haul departures in the mornings.

Does that mean that the 787 will be part-based again in summer 2022? Prior to the pandemic it was to be based for the entire summer of 2020.

And Bodrum and palma. Check out tui flights then check alternate dates. Loads of extras on there

Paphos 3 weekly , dlm 4 weekly , Antalya 3 weekly , pmi 4 weekly , hurghada 2 weekly , Bodrum 2 weekly. Looks like it definitely a glitch. Maybe some routes gone but they replaced with extra frequencies elsewhere

You need to look into the flight details as to which Airline is flying the route. TUI are using Easyjet for a lot of their flights.....

PFO is EZY on Monday, TUI is 2x weekly on Wed & Sat
DLM is EZY on Monday & Thursday, "Other carrier" on Wednesday, TUI 1x weekly on Sat
AYT is EZY on Wednesday & Thursday, TUI is 1x weekly on Sunday
PMI is EZY Monday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday. TUI is 3x weekly Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
HRG is EZY on Tuesday and TUI on Monday 1x weekly

look on tui flights select the destination then click on alternative dates all there with tui flights

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
