HIGH DEMAND FOR SUPER BREAK’S EPIC ARCTIC EXPERIENCE RESULTS IN EXTRA FLIGHTS BEING ADDED

Yorkshire-based holiday company, Super Break, has announced the release of additional flights to Akureryri in northern Iceland from Humberside airport after its exclusive Arctic experience packages sold out in just one month.

Due to the incredible response from local holidaymakers for its inaugural trip in January 2018, the company has chartered an additional flight which will depart on 16th February 2018.

With a series of must-do experiences on offer in Iceland’s lively second city, it’s no surprise that the trip has been flying off the shelves.

Each of the Super Break trips to Akureyri include a tour to see the Northern Lights, a Lake Myvatn Adventure – Land of Fire and Ice Tour, which includes the chance to see the region’s many magical terrains, the Goddafoss Waterfall, the boiling mud pools of Namafjall and a stop at Vogafjos working farm. There is also the opportunity to visit Myvatn Nature Baths – the ‘Blue Lagoon of the North’ or take part in a Snowmobiling Experience (extra charge applies).

Humberside Airport is one of the first airports in the country to fly direct to the city and is the first airport in the UK to release additional flights to the destination, due to popular demand, exclusively with Super Break.

Katherine Scott from Super Break said: “We have been thrilled with the popularity of our ‘Incredible Iceland’ package. Only three seats remain on the first trip we launched from Humberside Airport, so we wanted to add an extra date to satisfy demand in the area.

“At Super Break we take pride in selecting the very best travel experiences for UK holidaymakers to enjoy during a short break and pulled out all the stops to deliver our customers with the first ever flights to Iceland’s Arctic North. From lava walks to some of the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights, adventure really does await those heading to Akureyri.”

Deborah Zost, Managing Director of Humberside Airport, said: “We are delighted Super Break has added a second charter package to Iceland from Humberside Airport.

"This exciting destination has proved to be so popular the first trip is now full and we warmly welcome the opportunity for additional local passengers to experience this stunning country in February.

"The three-night 'Incredible Iceland’ package will depart on February 16, flying direct to Akureyri in North Iceland - the ideal area for seeing the spectacular Northern Lights.”

Akureyri: Experience Iceland’s Arctic North from only £699 per person.

(Flight + Hotel + Lake Myvatn “Land of Fire and Ice Tour” + Search for Northern Lights Tour)

Price based on three nights’ accommodation at 3* Hotel Nordurland by Kea Hotels including breakfast, Lake Myvatn “Land of Fire and Ice Tour” and Search for the Northern Lights Tour, plus return flights from Humberside Airport departing 16th February 2018.

To book the trip of a lifetime, visit the Super Break website or call 0800 042 0288.

That's good news! Let's hope that is replicated elsewhere as well!
Will be interesting to see what size of aircraft they'll use.

These buoyant bookings have had a further spin-off, as Superbreak are now selling a 3 night weekend break to Seville departing from Humberside on 9th March 2018.

They have similar breaks departing from NWI on 5th March, BOH on 12th March, LDY on 16th March, MME on 19th March, NQY on 23rd March and CWL on 26th March.

I've been to Seville. It's definitely worthy of a visit if you love Spain but perhaps have never been to Seville. It's well off the beaten track of the usual tourist trail if that's what you like and you'll find an abundance of tapas bars and restaurants where you can practice hablas Espaniol.

The second Akureyri departure from HUY has now been sold out. Superbreak are selling these trips from CWL, EDI, STN, NWI, BOH, NCL, EMA, LIV & EXT.
Humberside has benefitted by not having other offers nearer than East Midlands.
There may be a particular local demand for Akureyri (possibly related to marine research or the fishing industry). In recent years there have been private charter flights to Akureyri from Humberside. The flights have used an aircraft such as an A319 and have originated in Bremen.

Great news. Hope the other airports are sell outs as well!

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.

Well over 4 million steps taken this year already. And about 12,500 photos.
The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
