Gillan - If you Believe Me

I was never one for chart music. That was what my Sister listened to. I wanted to discover something more esoteric.

Gillan - If I Sing Softly

Ian Gillan being the singer from Deep Purple.

Soul Asylum - Without A Trace

Counting Crows - Mr Jones

From the album August and Everything After - one of my all time favourite albums!

If you want a great day out, take the family to the Black Country Museum (BCM), then once you're finished, head over to The Pie Factory (it's only about a mile or so away). The kids will love it. Last time I went to the BCM, I went down a mine. We were given hard hats (and being 6'3", I needed one), which had a light fitted with a filter that mimicked a candle. I also had a go at 'legging' a barge through a tunnel. If you're not driving (trains run from New Street), there is even a traditional pub serving ales. Many of the buildings at the BCM have been moved there and rebuilt, brick by brick.

The Black Country Living Museum sure is a great day out.

For anyone with younger children I'd definitely recommend their Halloween and/or Christmas evenings, we've done both on several occasions and thoroughly enjoyed them (y)

If anyone fancies making a short break of it I'd also recommend combining it with a trip to the RAF Museum in Cosford, another excellent day out (y)

Suppose I'd better add a song now to keep on topic 😬

The Who - Call Me Lightening

Led Zeppelin - Black Country Woman

Can't go too long without some Zep!

Eric Clapton - Knockin' On Heavens Door

(or, as a former girlfriend used to call it - 'Knockin' On Kevin's Door')

Whitesnake - Blindman

My favourite line up of the band, with Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden on guitars. I saw them on this 'Ready an' Willing' tour at the Birmingham Odeon.

Giant - I'll See You In My Dreams

Time, Time will never be a friend of mine again
It tries to make your memory fade, but I won't let it end
Let the sun go down, so I can drift away
Let me close my eyes and live another day

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
