Yes for an event like this tickets will always be high. No dount many fans will be thinking of creative ways of getting to Madrid while others will just pay the high prices.

For many it might be cheaper to drive through France or fly to southern France hire a car and then drive to Madrid. That is what many Cardiff Blues fans did last year for the European finals in Bilbao for the rugby.

Robin Tudor from Liverpool Airport management has mentioned on Granada TV news that so far the airport is expecting 25 extra departures carrying 5K passengers for the football final. There is likely to be a good mixture of aircraft and airlines similar to the Kiev operation. 52 departures over the 3 days has be suggested, Ethiopian 787 is expected again, and some venerable MD80s could be around amoungst others.

I think there will be several Iberia services different aircraft inc A330 and A340s, Evelop A330 and there should be some 767s too. There is a planned Ethiopian 788 from Liverpool again also.

Maybe the taxiways at LPL can't handle the A340 600. It has quite a big turning circle i believe.

I take your point Jerry and its valid but the A340-600 did fly in and out of LPL when the airlift to Kiev was on. But it may be the travel organisers are using Manc for Northern Spurs fans..who knows
