With all the sporting activities of late I'm pretty sure the extra flights and passengers will have boost Liverpool s figures. I would imagine Wideroe would have done quite nicely from it too.

And no doubt there will be another good boost with charters for the final in Madrid.
Yes for an event like this tickets will always be high. No dount many fans will be thinking of creative ways of getting to Madrid while others will just pay the high prices. Some bad press on very high price for air tickets .

For many it might be cheaper to drive through France or fly to southern France hire a car and then drive to Madrid. That is what many Cardiff Blues fans did last year for the European finals in Bilbao for the rugby.Via Bucharest was one cheaper option I saw mention!

Robin Tudor from Liverpool Airport management has mentioned on Granada TV news that so far the airport is expecting 25 extra departures carrying 5K passengers for the football final. There is likely to be a good mixture of aircraft and airlines similar to the Kiev operation. 52 departures over the 3 days has be suggested, Ethiopian 787 is expected again, and some venerable MD80s could be around amoungst others.
Apparently an A340 will operate out of MAN.Wonder if anything from SAA will appear this time?
Which would make sense if they're using the Manchester aircraft. As will the Ethiopian I believe

Maybe the taxiways at LPL can't handle the A340 600. It has quite a big turning circle i believe.I think SAA is from Manchester, not sure why that is.
