From what i've heard it may be the same in the morning. Thick fog across Southern England and Wales.
I hope it clears by tomorrow evening as I'm flying out of Gatwick then. I expect when I get back in a month's time the fog and mild temperatures will have been replaced by ice or rain or even, heaven help us, snow.(n)

According to BBC weather it should clear up about 10 am so you should be ok for your flight! Have a great trip!

I don't know the callsign. Two other easyJet flights for BRS (from Belfast Int and Edinburgh) diverted to MAN so it's highly likely that the NCL did too. FR24 shows it as diverting to Faro. I think that's not very likely.

Thursday 1 December 2016

It seems that it was the 'right type' of fog for BRS today. Whilst both EXT and CWL were affected severely by fog all day leading to many cancellations and diversions at both, BRS sat above it in winter sun.

So far as I can ascertain BRS saw two KLM Cityhopper Amsterdam inbound diversions from CWL, a Thomson Lanzarote flight from EXT, and possibly an Eastern Newcastle flight from CWL. BRS doesn't show inbound diversions on its website arrivals page so other sources have to be used.

I went to Wells from Bristol this afternoon and the weather was sunny for most of the way until we reached the long Bristol Hill into Wells. The spectacular view of the Somerset Levels including Glastonbury Tor from halfway down the hill was obliterated in thick fog and the city of Wells was cold, dank and foggy. On the return journey out of Wells the sun re-appeared half way up Bristol Hill and retained its winter presence all the way to Bristol.

I can confirm the evening eastern ncl rotation diverted into brs. I don't know if it waited for the cwl pax to be bused over.

There was also 2 Flybe's that diverted in from Exeter I presume
FR24 showed one Flybe flight to EXT (from JER) diverting to NQY. All other EXT Flybe inbounds were shown as either cancelled or landing (some did land at various times in the day). I put the FR24 list on the Exeter Airport thread.

Hope you had a good break TLY
Yes I did, thank you. My wife and I fly to Melbourne every year to visit our daughter and her family - they actually live on the Great Ocean Road west of Geelong (a fine coastal city in its own right, about the size of Plymouth or Southampton).

I believe you were also in UpsideDownCountry (the Kiwi part?) recently. I trust your visit there was enjoyable too.

As this is the thread for BRS delays etc I can stretch it a bit and say that just before we left Melbourne Tullamarine experienced huge problems with delays and diversions as it had received a batch of contaminated fuel.

Both diverted to us here at CWL, Hope you had a good trip Local :), Welcome back !

Thank you for the info Craig, and thank you for your kind thoughts. The trip was excellent, thank you.

Glad to hear it was a successful trip ! I have no doubt there will be endless Diversions from both CWL and BRS over the course of the next few weeks, where as its good for the airport which revives them, hopefully for the passenger sake it remains at a minimum.

Tuesday 6 December 2016

Despite quite thick fog in the area for much of the day there seems to have been no diversions. The BRS website shows the morning Brussels Airlines (op by Fybe) from Brussels and the morning bmi regional from Frankfurt both cancelled, although both outbounds first thing in the morning are shown as departed.

Monday 12 December 2016

It's been very murky and misty with drizzle today but it seems that BRS escaped lightly.

easyjet due 950 from Glasgow is shown as diverted (to BHX according to FR24)

Brussels Airlines (op by bmi regional) due 1005 from Brussels is shown as diverted (to EXT according to FR24)

Blue Islands (op by Flybe) afternoon Jersey rotation was cancelled

hows the weather in brs today. I see a few easy jet gone to bhx up from the London area. if brs is ok I wonder why we did not get those as brs a base and bhx not. any ideas. . have we had any diverts.

Is their a Bristol version of South Wales Aviation Group?

there is a vbristol spotters group. cant think of web site. if you google it you will find it.

The spotters group website is owned and run by Simon Fewkes who is a member of Forums4Airports with the user name sierrafoxtrot. In the Bristol Mayfly thread you will see the link to his site in post #1 of that thread.

There are also a couple of other enthusiasts sites but I'm not sure how active they are at the moment.

As far as I'm aware there is no site like SWAG that lists all CWL arrivals and departures each day with the registration numbers of the aircraft, unless you look at FR24 which does that for most airports.

BRS has had none of its own flights diverted today despite mist for most of the day. The airport website never seems to show diverts in from other airports so I don't know if any occurred today.

I suppose because BRS is pretty full most of the time there are limits on accepting diversions from other airports.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
