Discussions relating to Liverpool Airport
Liverpool's got off lightly with the showers. Is that the second divert LPL has taken?

Why forecasters nearly always underestimate the severity of downpours in the Manchester area when the wind comes from the west having picked up all the moisture and cloud from the Irish Sea and then overland is a mystery. And of course it causes chaos for approaches at MAN. Sometimes they do refer to showers through the Cheshire gap but not the monsoons we've experienced today. Looking at the metars, no other major airport in England has experienced anything remotely like the weather in Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

I work in the city there hasnt been too much rain in Liverpool today, rather muggy.

It was also a runway change at MAN which seemed to take a long time to activate, presumably due to waiting departures on 05L.

Add runways being inspected after very heavy shower causing standing water

I drove to Manchester yesterday early evening, the rain was horrendous, and it was sunny in west Cheshire.

Foggy where I live in Cheshire, but must be ok at LPL, Wideroe from Bergen and Ryanair from Dublin both landed fine.
Isn't LPL Cat 3 equipped now? I'm sure they upgraded a good twelve months or more ago.

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
