An Egg-cellent Easter Holidays at Cardiff Airport

As school prepare to break up for Easter Holidays in Wales, Cardiff Airport is preparing to welcome over 61,000 egg-cited customers - 15%* more than last year – and that’s no yolk.

This crackin’ news follows a busy first couple of weeks of the summer season – with the launch of two new routes with Ryanair to Barcelona and Malta and flights to Enfidha, Tunisia with Thomas Cook, one of ten summer routes operating on a larger A321 aircraft.

Qatar Airways – which was recently awarded ‘Best Regional Airline’ (Middle East); Best Business Class and Number 2 of the World’s Top Ten Airlines in Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards – operates a regular service from Cardiff and, in doing so, has created a new gateway into the UK for international visitors, ideal for friends and family wishing to visit from as far away as Australia and New Zealand.

The 5* airline also has excellent connections from its Doha hub to some stunning paradise destinations including Bali, Thailand, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Another popular destination this Easter is Amsterdam, an ideal weekend destination for a city break and a connecting hub for customers flying onwards to long haul destinations like Las Vegas, Orlando and New York.

Many airlines will also be whisking passengers off in search of some spring sunshine, including Vueling with flights to Alicante, Malaga and Palma Majorca and TUI with flights to the Canary Islands, among many others.
Top 10 destinations for Easter 2019:
  • Amsterdam - KLM
  • Doha, Qatar – Qatar Airways
  • Verona - Flybe
  • Venice - Flybe
  • Larnaca, Cyprus – Thomas Cook
  • Arrecife, Lanzarote – Thomas Cook and TUI
  • Belfast - Flybe
  • Palma Majorca – Thomas Cook and Vueling
  • Alicante – TUI and Vueling
  • Malaga- TUI, Thomas Cook and Vueling
Deb Barber, Chief Executive Officer at Cardiff Airport, said: “This Easter Holidays we’ll see 15% more customers travelling through Cardiff compared to last year’s break, which is an excellent start to the summer season.
“Our airlines are offering more destinations and more seats too so there’s no better time to invite friends and family to visit Wales, enjoy a city break or book some spring sunshine with the convenience of flying from Cardiff.”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
