View attachment 14203
Cardiff Airport has recently launched a new initiative to support the local community entitled ‘The Touchdown Programme’ delivering an action plan across four key areas.
  1. Charity support - we will select a ‘Charity Of The Year’ to benefit from a number of fundraising activities across the Airport
  2. Cardiff Airport in the Community – a grant scheme with three tiered levels of funding available: Gold: £500, Silver: £250, Bronze: £100. Organisations or groups of any size across South Wales can apply for sponsorship or funding for local projects focussed on education and/or environmental impact
  3. The Learning Programme – further developing our current, hugely successful educational visit scheme for schools, extra-curricular groups and other community clubs
  4. Community Communication – ensuring we are talking to and listening to the community through a number of ways, including committees and events.
As the national Airport for Wales, serving the capital city, Cardiff Airport is committed to making a sustainable positive impact on the community underpinned by its corporate vision ‘to be a pioneering Airport business, making Wales proud.’

Applications are now being taken for Charity Support and the Cardiff Airport in the Community grant scheme. The deadline for applications is 31st August 2019. The selection process will be completed and announced in November 2019 with the view to selecting and having partners in place by 1st January 2020.
Deb Bowen Rees, CEO at Cardiff Airport said: “We strive to make a positive contribution to our community as we understand the significance of having an airport in the region, and impact that can have on people’s lives.
“Our community is hugely important to us. South Wales is the area where our team and many of our customers live, work and enjoy life so we want to ensure we support the region and give back in as many ways as we can.

“Through the new programme we will establish effective, sustainable partnerships and plan activities that make the best use of the energies and skills of the whole Airport team.”

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
