Hopefully something can be worked out and they survive. What will be interesting to see is if their owners AIL will be required to put investment in before any government loan is approved.

It looks like Loganair won't resume both Edinburgh and Glasgow until the 1st June. Obviously its subject to change.
Also no Edinburgh loaded up for the winter yet.

It looks like Loganair have taken Edinburgh and Glasgow offsale for Summer 2020.
Let's hope its not permanent.

Lets hope they don't get taken away as that would be a disaster. The only thing I could hazard a guess at ,no one has a crystal ball to say when the coronavirus has got sorted. It does look like not many airlines are being carefull to what they release. If that is the case then it don't look good for next summer either,so a waiting game to see how things are going to go.

Apparently the routes that were summer-only will be back for 2021 - the likes of Guernsey, Jersey and Newquay. The routes that were year-round but have been taken out won't be back - so by definition, that includes the two Cardiff services.

I don't think anything can be predicted for Winter 2020 onwards just yet. Airlines will be reviewing things day by day but realistically until lockdown is lifted and things start moving again, there's no way of telling how demand will be. Even then, things could well be up and down for many months. Airlines are going in to retreat mode now. For Loganair, their core business is domestic routes, but it's become so widespread since Flybe went under they were entering unchartered territory for them. Compare Jet2 and TUI that are just waiting for lockdown to end and to learn what other countries are doing and allowing in. If the demand is there but countries won't allow people in easily, they can switch availability. If Spain continues with tougher rules, but Greece seems more lenient, they can shift as much capacity to Greece as possible. Virgin already has a core network of business and leisurenwhich has been fairly consistent for many years, hence why they can release schedules for 2021. People will be craving holidays, but business travel may take a hit with the increase in working from home and video calling. Loganair will probably have to play it safe and keep a close eye on how things start to move.

I have to agree with the comments that loganair will not be back. CWL only hope will be Eastern if they can find suitable aircraft or blue islands or Aurigny.

On another note maybe Cityjet can be tempted back as they have a few aircraft spare at the moment. Doesn't seem an impossibility.

The problem for Cityjet is that they have no booking engine of their own same with Stobart Air and both are Irish airlines so whether they can operate intra UK domestic flights after Brexit I don't know.
I think the airport will either have to do some sort of deal with Eastern Airways to base aircraft or except that the Flybe routes are lost for now and over time try and attract airlines like Aer Lingus and Loganair back eventually.
The problem I see will be if the latter takes years or doesn't happen and CWL can't attract the core key routes back WG will come under a lot of pressure with even the possibility of people calling for them to close the airport if they can't regain the lost routes.

I'm sure Cityjet could get a booking system up and running like Eastern did last month. But your right in saying its Eastern with any sort of chance of returning wwith some intra UK routes.

I know they had some parked J41 but they have probably been utilised now with their expansion.

Did they get a better deal from EXE ?
No idea. I just find it disappointing that they seem to have dropped CWL like a hot potato. I'd thought a route with 111,000 passengers last year just to Edinburgh would interest them.

Agreed but what future for CWL if these guys are not interested ?
Well for the Scottish routes not a lot unless Eastern open a base and their focus seems to be Southampton.

Perhaps they know something we don't, such as another airline being in the frame for the Scottish routes, I can't imagine that EXT could offer a better deal than CWL.

Airlines will go where the money is. Unfortunately at this stage it looks like CWL are in a spot of bother judging by other announcements across the UK. I hope I am wrong but Eastern seem interested else where and loganair have washed their hands with CWL.

Well maybe we need to except that CWL won't have it's main routes returning anytime soon due to lack of airline interest.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
