easyJet has announced plans to launch three new Glasgow Airport routes to Pula, Barcelona and Dalaman next Spring.

The announcement follows the news earlier this year that easyJet will commit a fifth aircraft next Spring to its Glasgow base, which will also create around 50 jobs at the airport.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be confirming our plans for expansion in Scotland today. The addition of our fifth aircraft in Glasgow will help us to deliver long term, sustainable growth in Scotland providing a greater range of destinations, all with great fares and excellent service for our customers.

“We are very excited about launching three new routes next year from Glasgow to a fantastic range of destinations. This will provide even more great value and choice for our customers travelling for both business and leisure.

“We remain excited about the future of easyJet in Scotland.”

Paul White, Head of Aviation at Glasgow Airport, said: “easyJet’s decision to introduce three new routes to Pula, Barcelona and Dalaman next year is fantastic news and follows on from the airline’s announcement in August to add a fifth-based aircraft at Glasgow with the launch of a double daily service to Birmingham Airport.

“The decision by the airline to continue growth at Glasgow will see these four routes support a number of jobs at the airport and add an extra 340,000 seats to easyJet’s operation. We’re particularly pleased to see the return of services to the Croatian town of Pula, which is sure to be popular with Scottish travellers.
“This welcome expansion from one of Europe’s leading airlines is to be commended and confirms easyJet’s strong commitment to Glasgow Airport and its passengers.”

easyJet is the largest airline in Scotland, operating up to 970 flights a week across 71 routes and almost 10% of all easyJet’s flying touches Scotland. In its 2020 financial year easyJet will see its operation in Scotland grow by 5%.
