EL AL returns to London Stansted to boost route network

View attachment 16086

EL AL Israel Airlines is to return to London Stansted when the carrier launches a new five-times a week service to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport.

The airline, which last operated scheduled services from London Stansted in 2009, begins flights on 28 June and will initially operate until 3 September using a 166-seat Boeing 737-800 offering business and economy classes. Fares start at £280 return and can be booked at www.elal.co.uk, by calling 020 7624 9708 or at local travel agents.

Tel Aviv, founded in 1909 and situated on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline, welcomes over 2.5 million international visitors each year and is the economic and technological centre of Israel, and ranked in the top 25 most important financial centres in the world.
The city is renowned for its vibrant nightlife and café culture and is famous for its world-class restaurants and cuisine. It’s also considered the world’s vegan food capital with the highest per capita population of vegans in the world. Tel Aviv’s White City, comprising the world’s largest concentration of International Style buildings, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003.

London Stansted’s Head of Aviation, Nick Sime, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome EL AL Israel Airlines back to London Stansted. In excess of 700,000 people already travel from our catchment area to Tel Aviv each year so it’s fantastic EL AL has recognised the great opportunity the exists at Stansted and is offering people living in North London and the East of England a quicker and more convenient travel option.
“We are confident that the new service will be well used by passengers and look forward to developing the route with EL AL in the future.”
Michael Strassburger, EL AL Vice President Commercial & Industry Affairs, said:
“EL AL continues to expand its operations across the UK and is excited to return and fly from London Stansted. The new five weekly flights from Stansted will offer our passengers from North London, East of England and surrounding areas the possibility to fly with EL AL, so we look forward to welcoming them to enjoy the Israeli experience that begins onboard our revamped aircraft fleet.”

Another legacy carrier for Stansted! It will be interesting to see how this turns out, given that they have several daily flights to other London airports.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
