[textarea]Two jets make emergency landings at Manchester Airport

TWO jets packed with holidaymakers were forced to make emergency landings at Manchester Airport this morning.

The drama started when the 9.18am Thomas Cook flight from Glasgow to Tenerife was diverted to Manchester.

The second jet forced to divert to Manchester was also operated by Thomas Cook and had set off from Leeds/Bradford Airport at 10.20am bound for the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Both planes had landed safely by 10.35am and were met on the runway by a fleet of fire and emergency service crews.

Passengers were then escorted to the terminal and an airport spokesman said that nobody had been injured.

An investigation is now under way to determine the cause of the emergencies.

The aircraft from Leeds was G-FCLK, I don't know what the other aircraft was. Does anyone know the nature of the emergencies?

The LBA-SSH was then operated by G-FCLH nearly 4.5h after arrival

The other aircraft was G-JMCG with a loss of cabin pressure over the firth of clyde operating MT452K which was then operated by G-FCLE 5hrs after.

G-VCED is all parked up now (or was) awaiting its fate

Im sure Echo Delta is on its way to the scrap heap anyway, but TCX do begin to worry me a little with the safety of their aircraft,

Theres 5 heading there including ED, Reg's not known as yet. Their aircraft are rickety but maintained to a high standard, a bit like MON.

I think Delta Lima and Yankee Alpha are two of the others, both Airbus A320's. I think G-FCLA B757-200 is being considered also, a Manchester based unit.

Was on G-OMYA to dalaman in sept and could see the reason why they would having it been ex G-BXKD for airworld and being abused. G-GDTL i can understand too, shes served her time. Both 753's are apparently leaving for the condor fleet next year too.

Yesterday saw a Thomas Cook Airlines Boeing 767-300 (G-TCCA) depart for SXM, to pick up some Indian Construction workers and take them back to Delhi, however, the aircraft undertakes an interesting route comprising of... MAN - SXM - MAN - DEL - MAN

This Boeing 737-300 (LY-SKW) of Aurela Airlines has been operating some of Thomas Cook's summer flights recently. It is seen here on final approach to Manchesters Runway 24R yesterday.

On top of the above, TCX are also chartering this EuroAtlantic Boeing 757-200 unit, CS-TLX.

Are TCX seriously short of aircraft at the moment or something?

TCX seem to be seriously short of aircraft every summer season. Last summer the airline seemed to be chartering Jet2 aircraft almost on a daily basis.

Yet again, it seems TCX are short on aircraft over this past weekend. The 9 hour delayed delayed TCX164K to Kos was operated by a Luzair Boeing 767-300 (CS-TQI) on behald of TCX.

Yet again, another airline/aircraft oeprating TCX services to PMI and SSH this past week. Euro Atlantic Boeing 767-300ER, CS-TFS, pictured here at MAN, after arriving inbound from PMI and back on its wya out to SSH for Thomas Cook.

(This thread name should be changed to "Other airlines helping out Thomas Cook") :)

Another one for the note, EC-LBC Boeing 757-200 of Mint Airways, operating a TCX flight to Dalaman.

An LGW based aircraft, an Airbus A330-200 was used on this morning FAO service. The aircraft positioned back down to LGW around 16.30

TCX seem to be having many problems at the moment, with two Boeing 757-200s curently in the hangar also.

D-ABOF, Boeing 757-300WL of Condor in at MAN for a C-check by TCX engineering on Friday 13th Aug 2010.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
