It's been mentioned in other places that TCX intend to move 3/4 753 to UK and 1 A333. With 1 763 leaving. Can their 753s operate to New York, Boston etc? It may be they are finding creative ways to continue expansion when having difficulties acquiring A332s

I feel sure they would need to reconfigure the cabin to long haul specifications before next summer?

Perhaps only 2/3 more airframes - if heavily used - could lead to the desired availability?

They are 757-300s from Condor. According to wikipedia then they have a range of 6658km with winglets without 6287 with 234 pax onboard. So from MAN that should mean they could reach New York and Boston and it's roughly 5300 km to New York and 5000km to Boston. So it has the range.

Perhaps I wasn't clear - my focus was on the cabin product rather than the technical ability of the aircraft to make the journey.

Id not fancy 7 hours in a short haul configured cabin!

Those Condor 753 frames are supposed to be replacing the 763 frames as far as i understand it so those routes to Larnaca Paphos Tenerife Antalya and Hurghada rather than being deployed on the TALC scheduled network

The Condor B757's won't be TATL.

They do eventually replace the B767's but next year, they are mainly for growth, as 3 B757's come in, but only 1 B767 goes out for next summer. The Scandinavian A330 is to replace the HiFly A330 at the STN/GLA base (the Scandi A333 releases an A332 at MAN to head to the STN/GLA base).

The interesting point will come for S18, as then the B767's will be all gone, so, with 2 aircraft down versus S17, do they bring in anything else to backfill?

The A330 seems to be getting harder to source, as the 2nd hand market has suddenly become very popular so for once. The sellers can be choosy on who they sell it to (highest bidder really), so it will be a case of just how much TCX want the extra A330's?

User001 think it likely MT/DE will be looking at a group long haul purchase pretty soon - Probably a 339 imo.

To replace the 763/753 and 332 frames .

Could still see a single long haul scheduled brand "Condor" develop.

With the Air Berlin troubles and Lufthansa looking at some of the business could Thomas Cook also pick up some of the remainder (Quite a few 332 frames their for the taking if AB fold !)

The 753s have not been known to make it tatl other than from KEF-BOS etc. as they don't have as much range as the 752. An A333 can make it to any one of their US destinations and provide extra capacity so could be useful in freeing up 332 on routes to MCO, JFK and BOS instead of adding an extra flight.

Edit: I hadn't seen above that the Scandinavia 333s were being sent to GLA and STN.

They really do need a long haul plan for the future, they have recently renewed their short haul fleet with 321s so maybe an order (albeit small) at some point for the 330 neo?

Turns out there is some substance to the GDS 'anomalies' I eluded to in an earlier post. Keep your eyes peeled.

Keep your eyes peeled, seems the S17 schedule isn't anywhere near finalised, some additions coming.

Nice. Some sognificant increases to LAX, JFK, MIA, MCO that I saw.

CPT entering into the GDS, and SFO and SAN in the background. Very good news.

It has been covered before, but Norwegian's issues will certainly have helped TCX and it is good to see a home grown outfit perform well and grow.

Well, I know what's confirmed to be coming, but, looking at the GDS thread, it seems:

Miami: 3 weekly from May
Los Angeles: 3 weekly from May
New York: 10 weekly from May
Orlando: 2 daily from May (but 3 daily in April?!)
Las Vegas: 10 weekly from May

Time will tell if those frequencies will all be correct, but I do know MIA/LAX is correct.

Some seem odd, LAS at 10 weekly in particular! I thought LAX/MIA was 4x weekly? I've probably read the fraction wrong!!

I'm sure it's supposed to be 3 weekly.

Interestingly, the LAX/MIA and JFK frequencies proposed in the GDS thread are the same increases that appeared last year for this year, so time will tell.

Of course the 'anomalies' point to 1 more A330. We've also got the strange situation that the Evening News has put out this travelogue to San Diego today with the tag line "passengers may soon be able to travel there direct from Manchester Airport" when when its only going to happen in a couple of years if at all?! Hope people will have long memories! http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/trips-and-breaks/reasons-visit-review-san-diego--11411074. It's only by going to Google Maps that you can fully appreciate the large distances between SFO, LAX and SAN. 5 hours in between SFO and LAX, 2 hours between LAX and SAN.

Wow! Great to see TCX's amazing expansion at MAN! 10 weekly to New York and Las Vegas is amazing! User001, are SAN, SFO and CPT in the GDS as well?

It is also interesting to see MEN's article. They report on MAN's developments very well. Gives VS something to ponder given the success of LAX and MIA.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
