Anyone know if Thomas Cook will be getting more A330's in the future?

I believe there are 2 more ex-Avianca A330 at Teureal, one of which appears to be the source of next years A330. It would make sense for TCX to try and get the final one also, which would add to the fleet.

2nd hand A330 are now getting more difficult to find, as the market for them seems to have had a resurgence. There is/was also an ex-Afriquayah A330 at Teural also, but I don't know if it offers TCX the commonality of the ex-Avianca machines.

I've had a look at the schedules and we may see one or 2 more long haul flights to be added from TCX.

The way the schedules work for number of based aircraft needed, based on a mid August timetable:

Mon: 6 (JFK/BOS/PUJ/HOG/LAX/MCO)
Tue: 5 (JFK/LAS/CUN/MCO/MCO)
Wed: 5 (JFK/CCC/CUN/LAX/MCO)
Thu: 6 (JFK/LAS/PUJ/HOG/MCO/SFO)
Fri: 6 (JFK/BOS/VRA/CUN/MIA/MCO)
Sat: 6 (JFK/LAS/CCC/LAX/MCO/MCO)
Sun: 7 (JFK/BOS/LAS/CUN/MIA/MCO/SFO)

So, Tue/Wed could see some extra flights unless it heads off to another UK airport to run a flight from there, will have to check skeds, it's possible as it seems one aircraft is positioned on sat/Sun to run a 7 aircraft schedule.

Well if there is any truth in the OAG reports Id say they are after quite a few more aircraft...

If it wasn't on San Diego's Facebook page post talking about Condor's new route between and Frankfurt with a German quiz, I'd love to suggest that the "BIG announcement on 28 September" was about Thomas Cook starting up SAN from MAN.

San Diego is an interesting one! Don't know much about the place but I wouldn't have thought it was a package holiday place?

There are about 5 gaps in the A330 schedule next summer. 2 of those could fit a San Diego in, but, I'm personally not expecting it next summer.

I wonder when the other "listed" route of Cape Town will be out in the open

Great news for MRU but CPT is the major prize.

Interesting choice of timings. I wonder whether CPT will be an AF/KL style day time 9am departure or a BA/VS style evening departure?

Wish they would paint an A330 in the colours of their tweet. £199 return to Dan Siego i believe as it does say guess where you can fly for that price

Out of curiosity I went on the Condor website to see how they deal with UK passengers. Spot the deliberate mistake!

That little problem should be sorted in the morning now that I've pointed them in the right direction. I wonder how many of those destinations will feature on the MAN departure boards over the coming years

Settle? And no SFO for TCX.

I would hope to see TCX go for SAN specifically. SEA for us is a more VS kind of route - perfect for DL feed. Condor has a business cabin and I think that SEA is a more business heavy market. Same goes for MSP with the VS comparison.

AUS/SAN would be good.

Yep Se(a)ttle. Home of their Boeing 767s.....oops! I wouldn't go to bookies and say SAN will be announced as the rewards would be measured in pennies and not pounds as it's odds on. I do quite fancy something like a weekly rotation to Denver in winter as a potential good one; if they were thinking of Reno for the ski market then Denver would do just as well

Thomas Cook will increase Cayo Coco flights in Summer 2017. Can't remember what the frequency was originally, but they will now have a Saturday flight.

HOG and CCC were both twice weekly originally for 2017. CCC was Wednesday and Saturday so it doesn't look like an increase unless they will operate on another day. However this year CCC was only once a week on Wednesday so it would be an increase on this year

I'm not sure, just going off what the tweets said. Several tweets from several Thomas Cook Stores (each store seems to have its own Twitter account) saying CCC increased with new Saturday flight.

A few weeks ago, it looked like the route had been cut as it was taken off sale, so, even if not an actual increase, good to see it remain.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
