CWL have taken the decision to close their runway between 03:00 and 11:00 tomorrow due to the imminent arrival of Storm Darragh.

Seems the most unfortunate timing on the very day there was due to be 2 Lapland charters.
This has been extended to 2pm now.

Looking at CWLs departure board and the only cancellations because of the storm are Aer Lingus Belfast City at 12.55 and Loganair Edinburgh at 19.45.

European Cargo flight from Chengdu to BOH on approach to CWL, second diversion this morning, Aer Lingus BHD to Exeter also diverted. As a point of interest, does anyone know if the URO cargo flights from CWL are carrying outbound loads?

As far as I know there is no outbound loads to URO , only inbound know this as I am sometimes there on shift so can see what is going on with the cargo flights

Looks like Cardiff has had a few diversions from Bristol today.
Ryanair Rzeszow to Bristol
Ryanair Dublin to Bristol
KLM Amsterdam to Bristol

Four weather diversions into CWL today three from Aer Lingus Regional, and one from KLM all should have gone to BRS. It must have been busy for the staff today, with the rugby flights as well.

Due to significant power outage, LHR is closed for all of Friday! Timing wise most diverts have already happened, however I suspect some may trickle into CWL. So far noted is:

- VS132 from BGI (G-VLUX A35K)

I would have expected more. It seems many flights diverted to Shannon and some to Paris. Could have been a money spinner for the airport

Don’t forget the airfield is closed overnight at the moment due to the runway work. It might not have been able to take flights or airlines might want 24 hour ops for getting the aircraft back out of the diversion airports

Reported on other forums that Taxiway Echo is out of use, presumably overnight with the runway works. The VS A350 is supposedly on stand 6, so aside from possibly Stand 7 for a 787, there's no space. Shame, as CWL could've really helped out.

Luckily for me I flew out of LHR yesterday but only because there was no option to fly from CWL or BRS. After saying that LHR is so big that I really think the best opinion for all airlines is to cancel rather than have a whole load of aircraft scattered across many parts of the UK and further afield across Europe. Looking at Flightradar24 most of the longhaul flights that had departed either turned back to point of origin or were cancelled. Very few (by comparison) were diverted to anywhere.

According to FR24, it looks like the VS A350 may have parked off-stand facing North in the cul-de-sac around stands 14/15

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
