Sunday 29 April 2012

Very strong and gusting crosswinds have caused major problems at CWL overnight and this morning.

TCX 7849 (A 320) due 0420 from Dalaman diverted to BRS, with 0600 outbound TCX 7268 operating to Enfidha from BRS

KL 1059 (F 70) due 0830 from Amsterdam cancelled

OAW 442 (F 100) due 1310 from Zurich/Bristol operated the return from BRS with CWL pax taken by bus from/to BRS

Other departures seriously delayed through the morning/afternoon.

Monday 29 December 2014

Following a lengthy runway closure at Gatwick today resulting from an incident with a Virgin B 747, numerous flights have been diverted to other airports.

So far CWL as seen Monarch A 321 G-OZBU from Funchal.

Addendum

LGW runway now seems to have re-opened around 1915 hours.

Friday 9 January 2015

According to FR24 and BRS arrivals page TOM 6555 TFS-CWL (B 738) due CWL 1955 diverted to BRS presumably because of the strong winds.

Seems a strange one. Can't imagine that happens often.
as you say a strange one.
depends if he had a change of route some where down line,or strong head winds. flying time from cdf is about 50 minutes and already in the cruise.
better be safe than sorry i suppose.

another divert into cwl from bodrum in the early hours of monday the 6th of july at 02.22
flt no ein 4793 aircraft a320. reg no ei dyn.
dont know if divert started as splash and dash.
pilots ran out of hours so still on stand.
i wonder if they had a delay down line, or just bad rostering. what a shambles if latter
feel sorry for pax. wonder if they were put up in a hotel near airport.

Monday 8 February 2016

The gale force winds this morning have caused the following diversions:

Flybe E195 from Edinburgh diverted to Exeter

Aer Lingus Regional A 320 from Dublin diverted to Birmingham

Ryanair B 738 from Dublin diverted to Manchester.

Flybe E195 from Dusseldorf diverted to Exeter.

Contract Air B 733 from Dublin diverted to Bristol.

Aer Lingus Regional (Stobart) ATR 72 from Dublin diverted to Bristol.

Aer Lingus Regional (Stobart) ATR 72 from Dublin diverted to Manchester.

In addition both Anglesey PSO rotations, SW4 aircraft operated by North Flying were cancelled as was the Glasgow Flybe E195.

There were a number of additional flights from Dublin today following yesterday's Six Nations rugby match between Ireland and Wales.

Two British Airways 747s diverted into CWL this morning along with a 777-200. Shannon got a couple more BA aircraft including an A380.

British Airways B789 G-ZBKI about to touch down at Cardiff from Abu Dhabi. A Heathrow diversion due to High winds. There's plenty more holding, so possibly the first of a few for Cardiff.

Thanks NOSIGWE I guess it's one of the advantages of having the BA maintenance at Cardiff is you get to see some interesting movements from time to time.

Does anyone know why the Flybe 07.00 Dublin was cancelled this morning?

KLM Cityhopper KL1069 delayed tonight. Scheduled arrival at 21.30 but expected arrival is 22.20. As this is the nightstopper i wonder if this will effect the 6am departure?

Thomas Cook A320 YL-LCL went tech last night. Flown in from BHX was A320 YL-LCL to operate TCX7036 to Bourgas the flight was due to depart at 20.40 but departed at 01.06 and will arrive back at 08.28.
Also Thomas Cook A321 G-TCDV will operate TCX7042 to Reus delayed departure at 07.45 due to it not arriving from MAN until 06.50.

YL-LCL is operating from Bourgas directly into Birmingham, I guess to keep further delays to a minimum.

It was due to depart BHX for Kalamata at 07:25, this has now been delayed until 09:25.

Seems to be a theme this weekend! Balkan Holidays Bourgas 8H5549 has been delayed today. Was scheduled at 17.20 but landed at 19.43. So figure that the return 8H5550 so depart between 20.15 and 20.30. And looking at many flights from CWL today there seems to have been a 20 to 30 mins delay on many of them from midday onwards.

Eastern Airways flight T34095 18:30 arrival from Newcastle is cancelled. T34096 18:55 departure to Newcastle is also cancelled as a result. No information as to why.

The Aer Lingus flight EI3298 is delayed scheduled arrival at 20.30 eta 21.30 there may well be problems at DUB with delayed departures. Estimated departure is 21.55

VY1243 CWL-PMI estimated departure 20.00
BE4516 CDG-CWL delayed estimated arrival 19.35

Eastern Airways NCL 18.30 arrival and 18.55 departure has been cancelled. Wondering if they are having aircraft problems or just not enough pax for the routes?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
