🤣 sorry but does the mayor really think that the Teesside public are so gullible?

How can he make a pledge like that? Unless of course an airline has already made that commitment in which case it will happen whether or not he gets elected!
Perhaps he could explain what happened to the low cost carrier ops base which he promised in his business case & pledge that should he get re-elected that will actually happen, suspect that he won’t though!

By the way I understand Ryanair were supposed to be already flying these routes from MME but they got pulled due to the shortage of aircraft………

I’m not sure that’s strictly the true reason, as Ryanair are adding more capacity into TFS and I think AGP this summer, but MME does not feature in that capacity increase.

Mention of aircraft shortage is just a way of deflecting from the real issue, and that is MME is way down in the list of priorities even though Ryanair are probably getting an exceptionally good deal to fly from there.

Doesn’t bode well.

Looking at the timings, it certainly going to be a very popular route with people able to have a good first afternoon/ evening. There will certainly be some moaning about the return times. But its a start and we won't have better return times until a base is opened at Teesside, which I could possibly see happening within the next couple of years.

A base isn’t impossible but I think probably whilst they are at LBA and NCL, they wouldn’t be able to justify it I don’t think. A seasonal TUI base like NWI and EXT is more likely.

Ryanair 2025 Summer timetable so far...

Alicante: Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
Faro: Wednesday & Saturday.
Palma: Thursday & Sunday.
Malaga: Monday & Thursday.
Corfu: Saturday.

That is 582 flights at the moment pencilled in.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
