On the dried fruit forum, it has mentioned extremely low passenger numbers on MME-AMS, single figures .
How long has it been running? I'm wondering if it has been canned and started again If so it may take time for word to get around? If it has, Mr Houchin isn't maybe advertising the fact enough. If they pull it, it will be very to get it back again I imagine.

Anyone know the numbers? Many years ago, when I was using it, it was very popular.. Remember though ICI Wilton was still in existence then. It was a business mainly then/connecting flight. Today it may need weekenders etc.

Pax figures for August 2024 were 8365. There can't have been many flights with single figures.
At 2 flights per day, that would average about 65 per flight. I suggest someone has reported on one flight or are trying to cause trouble.

I thought there were 3 flights per day. Having said that August tends to be quiet for business travellers.

I believe this winter MME has more seats on sale to/from AMS than Leeds

That sounds more like it, particularly for August. I think someone has been stirring.

For past fair few years KLM have dropped down to two return flights a day during July & August.

Looking at the numbers that teenager has put on that facebook page.
August 2024
Airport Passengers
Lad 25,765 / CAA 26,098

Amsterdam
Lad 8,027 / CAA 8,365

The Lad has put for:
September
Airport 25,579
Amsterdam 8,293

October
Airport 19,959
Amsterdam 7,839

With the end of October/ beginning November figures he has put up, I'm a bit dubious. Three days in a row of having single digit passengers. Somehow I don't think this will be the case.

Looking at Amsterdam flights operated.

Month - 2023 / 2024

April - 132 / 160
May - 147 / 155
June - 142 / 160
July - 99 / 123
August - 103 / 131
September - 141 / 149
October - 154 / 160

Totals
2023 - 918
2024 - 1,038

Under KLM operation on a weekend it was three flights Saturday & Sunday.
Under Eastern this increased to four flights Saturday & Sunday.

So even with the few days where lost flights due to going Tech, they are still operating more than KLM did last year.

With the winter timetable now in operation Saturday increases to six flights, remaining four on a Sunday. So now six flights (3x returns) a day Monday - Saturday during the winter timetable.

Presume Eastern are to remain operating the Amsterdam flights throughout next year as well. Even though the booking engine has it as KLM operated from Summer timetable change. So let's presume Eastern are continuing on.
KLM website only has booking open til 29th October.

1st January - 29th October there are upto 2,274 flights available. This will increase if Eastern are kept on.

On the KLM booking system it has the E190 as 100 seats. That will mean 227,400 seats on the Teesside - Amsterdam route, with still November & December to come out.
So if take the average over year passenger figure of two thirds of capacity, that will mean passenger numbers either side of 150k, that is if every flight ran.

I reckon more like somewhere in the region of 110-120k passengers on the route in 2025.

Previous highest I have recorded on the route was 126,849 in 2009. So are we set to be seeing some good growth numbers on the route next year at least getting back to pre covid days if not bettering.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
