Hi all,

If all being well, could we see an increase in services? I remember last year them [Saudia] doing an extra weekly service in the summer on a Saturday.

Are there any plans to bring that extra weekly and potentially keep it anytime soon? Or will the current 3 weekly stay as is for now?

Hoping they do something about it. A lot of traffic is typically connection traffic in the summer months, and pilgrimage traffic to Mecca in winter months. That’s only from my personal experiences with Saudia from Birmingham.

Saudia is having a great year so far out of BHX so far:

Jan'25 - 8,227 Pax (+68% on 2024) (LF = 91.1%)
Feb'25 - 6,381 Pax (+20.5% on 2024) (LF = 75.5%)
Mar'25 - 6,360 Pax (+31.1% on 2024) (LF = 69.4%)*

Quarter 1 2025 = 20,968 (+39.4% on 2024) (LF = 78.6%)*

* estimates, official Mar'25 figures yet to be released.

Considering that in 2024, Easter was partially in March and there was an extra day in February, the fact that SV is carrying nearly 40% more pax in 2025 than the year before is great growth!

Obviously the UK is a growth focus for SV, so with such improved numbers, things are looking positive and hope they continue to grow. Appreciate that pax numbers and load factors does not necessarily translate to profitability, but things are definitely looking good. April is also looking good!

Maybe that daily story may finally come true soon

Just wanted to let you all know that according to FR24, on Tuesday 6th May we may be getting HZ-ARB. While we have got it before, that was before the repainting when it still had its Riyadh 2021 markings.

This will be the first time that we’ll get the National Day livery. Hopefully, it doesn’t get changed last minute, as was the case back on the 19th December in 2023 for me when I was meant to go on HZ-AR32 but was swapped out for HZ-AR24, I was gutted on that very morning to see that it was swapped!

Anywho, I digress, fingers crossed that HZ-ARB does come!

Circumstances have changed.

SV253 & SV250 has changed to a 787-10 with the reg HZ-AR33 for 11th May. Red Sea Sticker livery (same one I’ve been on in January to come back in to the UK on.)

Interesting that the -10’s been put on when originally it was scheduled to be a -9. Full flight perhaps? Or just based on aircraft availability?

It is not based on todays load !

Noticed this Sundays Saudia bhx-Jed has 14 sold out seats.Time to go seasonal or send NarrowBody?
I believe there was over 200 pax on each of today’s inbound and outbound flights and SV carried even more pax than Qatar today…

May is always a quiet month but SV is carrying much more pax this year from BHX than they did last year!

Given that Hajj soon will be happening from Early June I’m not all too surprised, I always found Saudia to be on the cheaper side as well, which I’m sure many people have the same reason why they’re going on Saudia.

It’s great to see this though as Saudia properly settles into Birmingham, they’re an amazing airline to fly on (from my personal experiences) and I would not hesitate to pick them over EK, QR or TK.

Hoping Saudia get to increasing their services soon once they grab ahold of more 787s which are on order.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
