This is great news securing these approvals ahead of the planning application on the new Willis development at the airport, which has one week left to run before the planning department makes their decision.

Should give some interesting spotting possibilities.

Planning permission has been granted this afternoon for the Willis Aviation Village development.

Willis has Loganair E-145 G-SAJD in for C check.
Today Jet2 737-800 G-JZDB arrived for conversion works to begin. The other two aircraft in the contract are G-JZDA & G-JZDC. These three aircraft are from the former Flyr fleet. Repaints are being done elsewhere.

Pics of two of the new (used)737's at Teesside.

Lots of former easyJet's A319s at the airport now for scrapping. As the fleet wind down begins.

Just had a look at Darlington Council's Planning portal.
The Willis Village application has been GRANTED on 12th December. Subject to Section 106 obligation.

Section 106 agreements are usually funds by applicant to the local authority to assist public transport, local schemes, environmental projects etc.

Just paid my first ever visit to MME on Sunday and noted 6 easyJet A319s being scrapped. Could only read 4 off, EZAW, EZAY, EZBB and EZBF. Anyone able to provide the reg for the other two please? Plus the two blue (presumably ex ITA) ones? Thanks in advance

Few bits of news from Willis this month. With even more news to come. Things are certainly starting to take off.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
