As you are aware the Elmdon site has the Multi Storey Car Park available for parking. There is also a small number of Visitor spaces around Forward House (next to the MSCP). Whilst it has been a very relaxed attitude to parking around Forward House this will be changing very soon.

As regular visitors to the MSCP will be aware there are now new barriers and ANPR cameras in use for access to the car park. I have been told (unofficially) that parking tickets will soon be issued on anyone NOT using one of the visitor spaces or the MSCP. There will not be tickets issued on the windscreen but instead letters through the post to the registered owners of the vehicle. I am awaiting confirmation on when this will start but anticipate it being very soon.

Please be aware of this as unless your vehicle is either parked in a proper space or payment is made when leaving the MSCP you could end up with a fine for parking illegally.

All round Forward House (apart from a small visitor space at the back of the building and two spaces at the side of the building) is covered by double yellow lines and these will be enforced! Recently there has been a line of cars parked down Forward Road and this has come to the attention of NCP (mainly as a lost revenue stream). I would hate to hear that spotters have been ticketed after enjoying their hobby.

If I find out the start date I will share it as soon as possible but bear in mind this may happen too late to warn people about in advance.

Thanks, where would be the closest and free spaces be?
That all depends on when you are here. As mentioned there are two spaces at the side of the building and a small area at the back of Forward House. These are designed for visitors to the building so may already be in use. If you come after 1500 hrs then MAD catering may have left for the day which means he would not be chasing you away from his parking spaces (he stops anyone but customers from parking there).

Bear in mind that the building does attract visitors (both to my Company and the Flight Doctor) so these spaces could be in use already. Most other areas on the site are either controlled by access to authorised visitors or payable in one way or another.

Please note that the "NO PARKING" signs are now showing on Forward Road. No physical tickets will be issued, instead a Penalty Notice would be sent out through the Mail. There is still a visitors space at the side of Forward House and a small amount of Visitors spaces at the rear of the building but everywhere else (unless your car is on the agreed list) is covered by Double Yellow lines and should now be considered as enforceable. MAD Catering do have 2 x spaces at the front of Forward House for Customers (with the others apparently dedicated for NCP). MAD Catering is still shut at the moment (but he is due to return around the 7th / 8th of February).

Thanks CL44, does this new change re Penalty notices apply to Forward Road only or other areas of the Elmdon site also? Also, are there any problems with those who are not visitors to Forward House using their visitor spaces?

I think you will find that MOST of the Elmdon site either has parking restrictions or double yellow lines. Bearing in mind how close you are to the Ramp (which is part of the attraction I know) then the Police have never been shy in either asking questions or moving drivers on. As for the Visitors spaces they are designed for Visitors to the building not just the Airport in general.

What everyone should consider is that one of the tenants in Forward House is NCP (who actually own the building and rent it out!). They will not be shy in requesting penalty notices being sent out. I believe the charges in the MSCP have been dropped for the first hour but still seem to be very steep for afterwards!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
