Is there anyway of finding out how many % wise of passengers using KLM from Cardiff use it to fly short haul to Europe?
Other than asking the airline or possibly CWL (I guess they might have a good idea) I don't know of any publicly available figures that would answer your query. The information might be regarded as commercially sensitive.

I take it that you don't just mean point-to-point CWL-AMS but also those who fly on to, say, Rome.

I have a vague notion that I once read that about 60% of KLM's passengers use that airline and partners to fly on from Amsterdam but that would include long-haul. That was quite a number of years ago (perhaps 10-20 years ago) and possibly related to the BRS-AMS route. If my memory isn't playing tricks things still might have changed over the ensuing years.

Yes the onward connecting traffic. The % of how many passengers use them for Europe came up elsewhere as people seem to believe that they are only used for long haul. From my own experiences on KLM flights over the years it seems a lot more people use it for Europe than many people might think.
I know Anna aero posted the figures below but they are for the UK as a whole and I don't know how representative of CWL they would be.

No, there's nothing publicly to distinguish onward destinations, unless the Airport or KLM release the info themselves on a press release. I can't see either disclosing the info if contacting directly, but always worth a try.

Hmmm - it’s a legal KL connection but we’ll see - I’d did CWLSXM with a 60 minute connection not so long ago and the bag made it ! Sorry this is thread drift
Maybe it's more possible on the way out? I'll admit my lost bag experience with has been on return journeys.

Just back from my ALC flight on KL outbound and VY inbound. I had a 40 minute connection in AMS and was convinced my bag wouldn’t make it but it did ! Connections there are so easy. I think KL must be one of the only airlines left that gives you free food and drink - albeit a small piece of cake on CWL to AMS but a nice tortellini on AMS to ALC. O/B flight about 90% full and the inbound VY had 2 empty seats. I am flying via AMS later this week to AUA but with a 2 hour connection.

Good news that your bag made it!
Credit to KLM their onboard snacks are usually pretty good better than the sandwich Lufthansa served me on that flight for sure.

KLM have upgraded the 17.15 evening departure to an E190 Monday to Friday except in July and August. So that means on Tuesdays and Fridays all 3 departures will be E190s.

On Friday i took this photo of the Air France A318 and the KLM E175 on stand side by side. AF on stand 10 and KLM on thier usual stand 9 and it made me think how great it would be if one day that was a regular occurence and KLM wasn't Cardiffs only Skyteam airline.

At the moment it looks like KLM will continue to operate its 20 weekly departures with the E190 continuing to operate 6 of those flights.

Good to know considering how important they are for many regional airports in the UK including Cardiff

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
