Oh received news they were suspending the announcement today due to 1st April - expect it tomorrow.

Serious note - S26 for LTN is not yet on sale. One has to wonder if it's slot availability; Jet2 growth v what LTN can offer etc.

Be interesting to see if they double A321 to 4 or even triple the size of the base.

There seems to be conflicting info around at the moment. Whilst Jethros is indeed stating 1 Air Tanker A330 at MAN, previous years have been 2. So who knows. The BHX A330 from HiFly is as a result of A21N delivery delays which are being affectionately referred to as "cattle trucks" however the high density HiFly A330 may mean some people need to be careful what they wish for. Would be happy to see normal A321s at LBA even if we don't get A21Ns - what that old chestnut I hear you cry! Anyway let's see what we end up with in 2026.
What's the latest re the 733's as seems to be some rumours these are staying longer than previously anticipated? Let's see what happens when they have had another summer of being flogged to death

Given the A330 in BHX is to replace capacity of the late deliveries of A321, free up aircraft to cover them etc do we really think they'll drop down to one in MAN for the summer meaning they'll suddenly have to find 2 aircraft or a A321 and B738 to replace the capacity lost by getting rid of the A330 in MAN. Which kind contradicts the point of the A330 in BHX.

As for A321 in LBA - who knows. S27 possibly but just watch out I say. With 3 relatively new bases on the agenda (1 of which is A321, the other 2 B738) they will probably grow them but then where will they make the B737-800's from and what will they replace them with if they do? Also remember that some of the A321's are down to replace a B737-800 with the 800 then sold/parted out/retired.

B737-300 someone mentioned S27 I'm sure earlier on. Maybe S28 - things change.

According to Jethros the summer lease in of aircraft for Jet2 are 1x A330 (G-VYGL from Air Tanker at Man
1 x A330 from Hi Fly at BHX
2 x 738s from ETF at Man (9A ABC & 9A ALB)
and 1 x 738 from Air Explore OM-LEX at East Midland

Just seen a post on LinkedIn that Jet2 are leasing 3x Boeing 737-800’s from Air Explore this summer.

In other news, reported from Sean M looks like JER is starting beginning of May next year, which is good news. every little helps
Think they are perhaps missing a trick by not operating these until the end of October too, even if it was just once a week on a Saturday. There is a school half term in late October. And I also wonder whether they could operate a limited Xmas/NY program too?
All that said, and sounding like a stuck record, Jet2 do seem to know what they are doing and dont get much wrong

I've always thought a weekly winter service to JER could work, Blue Island being someone to operate. Especially over the Xmas period.

Even bring a weekly service in April could still be popular, look at the weather in the UK this week compared to a lot of Europe!

The CI market has of course changed massively since the hey days of the 80s and early 90s but if GR can support limited GCZi ops over Xmas and NY and other airports support year round JER ops then there has to be scope for Jet2 to lengthen their offering surely. Or is there room for a 2nd operator such as SI. My longer term concern will be what happens when the 733s finally leave us, although they do operate 800s from other airports. easyJet do have quite a good JER program so I just wonder...........

Still no RAK on offer from LBA beyond W25. Fingers crossed it becomes a year round route (as is the case with AGA).

Better more profitable places to fly than RAK?

As for Jet2 operating year round on the JER market one suspects that they won't due to the business model that they operate with there been minimal holiday market to JER in the winter months. easy seem to have taken care of the bum's on seats market and one hopes, that when and if, they launch LBA as a new base, JER will feature as a year round destination.

Air Explore B738 OM-OEX has been operating out of BHX for the last 7 days on behalf of Jet2, in basic Jet 2 livery.
And Air Explore OM-LEX has been operating from EMA since 02/04/2025.

Air Tanker A330-243 G-VYGM is back in basic Jet2 livery, and arrived Manchester 8th April, to commence flight operations.

G-VYGL left Manchester the same day for maintenance at Prestwick, and will return to Manchester once completed.

Both Titan Airways A321-211, G-POWN & G-POWU are now operating for Jet2 based at London Stansted.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
