Rumour has it that easyJet are to return to East Midlands from Summer 2011 operating W patterns from Liverpool on routes to Rhodes, Fuerteventura, Paphos & Las Palmas.

This would be good news for the airports growth.

Routes could be announced this week!. :good:

New rumour is that Easyjet are to return to EMA with a larger base than last time, easyjet 'bigwigs' been seen at EMA recently. It would make sense if they returned, but unfortunate in that they would likely be replacing WW. It wouldn't bode well for any hoped for easyjet return to DSA however.

I would much prefer to see what Jet2 have to offer first then Easy. As much as i'd like to see healthy expansion for S13 from Easy i don't think they will. I think if WW dissappear without being bought, then Jet2/Ryanair will pick up the customers left, and not only this KLM could open up AMS route with O&D aswell as Transfer pax.

and not only this KLM could open up AMS route with O&D aswell as Transfer pax.

Flybe will already offering that with their new flights to AMS and CDG..

As for Jet2/FR taking up the slack, I can only see that to an extent. Jet2 supposidly have some big plans for EMA, but in terms of routes offered will not mitigate the loss of WW, neither will BE. Hopefully Easyjet will see potential in putting three aircraft in now that there will be more breathing space than last time.
