Sri Lankan Airlines LHR - CMB UL504.

Heathrow Terminal 3, was never the best, remember it from when I lived in the south and worked in travel. However check in and security was fast. Was able to use BA lounge while waiting to board. The lounge was just OK

Flew business class with Sri Lankan 0n 21 Feb 26, Heathrow to Colombo. A330 aircraft, the plane wasn't new, but the interior in business was good, lay flat seating, friendly crew, food was good with decent choices available. The films were extensive but I'd say not very up to date. I wasn't too bothered, the departure was at 20.40 hours, after dinner, I really wanted to get my head down. Watched a wildlife documentary went to sleep, and woke somewhere around Mumbai, so thats a result for me.

Personally I dont use Middle Eastern airlines, for several reasons. Since the conflict has kicked off im even more glad. My brother is currently stuck in Abu Dhabi. Now travelling CMB to MLE UL 115. Noticed most flights to Middle East are cancelled.

Hi @Silvercity, thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like a pretty solid run with Sri Lankan.

It’s a real mess with the cancellations at the moment. Sorry to hear about your brother being stuck in Abu Dhabi the knock-on effect of the current conflict on flight corridors has made the Middle Eastern hubs quite a gamble. Sticking to the direct southerly route via Sri Lanka definitely seems like the wiser move right now and its definitely paid off for you.

Hi Aviador

I have flown with Sri Lankan before some years ago, when they operated from Terminal 4, economy then, but I do recall them being good. Now in Maldives after being in Sri Lanka on a 2 week tour, flew economy CMB-MLA, very comfortable and generous leg room in economy.20260308_130544.webp20260308_130351.webp

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
