Jet2 have announced Jersey as new Summer 2027 destination from Birmingham Airport, with three weekly services operating throughout Summer

UK consumer champion, Jet2 is today announcing the launch of a new route from Birmingham Airport to Jersey for Summer 2027.

In response to continued demand from customers and independent travel agents booking holidays for the short hop to Jersey, the UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline has introduced flights and holidays from Birmingham Airport to the scenic destination from 2nd May to 10th October 2027.

Offering holidaymakers even greater choice and flexibility when it comes to booking ahead and exploring the largest of the Channel Islands, three weekly services (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) will operate from the airport during this time.

The addition of Jersey means Jet2 will operate to 65 sun and city destinations in Summer 2027 from Birmingham Airport – including five new routes.

Whether holidaymakers are looking to escape to Jersey for either a long weekend or longer break, with Jet2 offering great choice and flexibility, customers have plenty of opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable Channel Islands escape.

Sitting between Britain and France, just a short distance from the UK, Jersey offers aquamarine waters and vast stretches of white sand beaches. At just nine miles by five miles, Jersey is known as the “little island with the big spirit” and its warm and sunny climate is ideal for those looking to pursue a range of outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing, kayaking and diving. Add to that castles, forts, museums, cobbled streets and rolling hills, Jersey offers holidaymakers everything they need for the perfect getaway.

Those looking to book ATOL protected package holidays with the UK’s largest tour operator, Jet2holidays, can select from a range of 3 to 5-star accommodation in the areas of Grouville, St Helier, St Brelade’s Bay, St Peter and St Aubin.

Holidaymakers travelling to Jersey with Jet2 can choose from leisure flights with Jet2.com or ATOL protected package holidays with Jet2holidays, as well as having the opportunity to experience the industry-leading customer service which has seen the brands be recognised as Which? Recommended Providers for 11 consecutive years. Customers travelling with Jet2.com receive that same industry leading customer service, friendly low fares, great flight times and 10kg hand luggage allowance.
Recently, Jet2 became the first UK airline and tour operator to confirm it will not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays to cover cost increases, for example jet fuel, assuring customers that the price they book with Jet2 is the price they will pay. In an industry-leading move, Jet2 confirmed that it has removed the surcharge provision across all flights and holidays, even though the company has never previously applied them.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said:
“We are delighted to be launching Jersey as a new destination from Birmingham Airport for Summer 2027. With a great choice of flights available to this fantastic destination, holidaymakers have so much choice and flexibility when it comes to booking ahead and enjoying a holiday to Jersey with Jet2. Given the appeal of this fantastic destination, we are very confident that these new flights and holidays from Birmingham Airport will be hugely popular, and we look forward to taking more holidaymakers to Jersey in Summer 2027.”

Matt Thomas, Chief Executive of Ports of Jersey, said:
“The growth that Jet2 has announced for 2027 demonstrates the growing confidence airlines have in Jersey. Increased capacity and a longer season delivers greater choice and improved connectivity. It’s a great boost for our tourism industry, making Jersey more accessible to key UK markets and providing more flexibility for Islanders.”

Tricia Warwick, Chief Executive of Visit Jersey, said:

Jersey has so much to offer, from our warm welcome and fascinating history to our stunning coastline, countless outdoor adventures, and vibrant dining scene. The addition of new routes from Birmingham and Bristol to Jersey, along with additional capacity and an extended season, is a great boost for the island's visitor economy and local businesses. We look forward to continuing our work with Jet2 and Ports of Jersey, and to inspiring prospective visitors from these new markets to choose Jersey for their next getaway."

Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, said:
Jet2’s significant expansion for summer 2027 is excellent news for Jersey’s visitor economy. The strength of its flight-only and Jet2holidays packages will bring new visitors to Jersey and support our local businesses, making it easier to discover everything our island has to offer.”

Matthew Hazelwood, Chief Commercial Officer of Birmingham Airport, commenting on the new route said:

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
