Hi everyone,

We wanted to give you all advance notice that Forums4airports will soon be migrating to a brand-new, high-performance private server.

Whilst we do not have an exact date set for the move just yet, we wanted to keep the community in the loop early so you know what is happening behind the scenes.

As many of you know, forum traffic has grown significantly over recent years, and our recent experience with bot attacks highlighted that we've finally outgrown our existing shared hosting setup. To ensure the site remains fast, stable, and secure for the future, we are moving the forum onto dedicated hardware tailored specifically for our needs.

Here is what you can look forward to once the move is complete:
Faster Load Times & Enhanced Performance: Moving to dedicated CPU, memory, and storage means the forum will run noticeably faster and smoother, with no shared server bottlenecks.
Rock-Solid Stability: Bot waves and sudden traffic spikes will no longer affect performance, ensuring the site stays reliable during busy news days and peak traffic periods.
Upgraded Security: We will be permanently integrating automated, high-tier security and firewall protections. This keeps bot attacks at bay without requiring intrusive security checks or slowing down your browsing experience.
Zero Interruption to Features: All existing attachments, media, and bi-daily offsite backups will carry over seamlessly to the new environment.

We will be working closely with our host and technical team to carry out the migration carefully and minimise any potential downtime when the time comes.

We will share the exact dates and cutover details as soon as everything is finalised.

Thank you as always for being such a brilliant community and for your continued support!

That sounds very exciting, looking forward to it coming on "stream"
Thanks Seasider, we are really excited about it too!

I also want to take this opportunity to remind everyone across the wider community that investments like this are only possible because of our forum subscribers and every single member who posts regularly. Your ongoing support and active contributions are what keep the site thriving and allow us to keep improving the platform for everyone.

We will keep you all updated as soon as we have a firm date for the switchover!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
