Nice to finally see FLR being served, but I wonder if a flight once a week will be the final schedule? Great if you want to visit Florence and Tuscany for a week, but not really serving the short break market very well, which the city in particular is most popular for. Anyway it’s a start and nice to see.

Maybe BA are targeting the week long holidays in the Tuscan countryside with these flights then, instead of the quick “okay lets get away for a few days” customers, but I do hope if the advanced bookings are good that they add a midweek flight as well.

There is certainly a publicly stated intention from Alex Cruz to expand BACF from the regions, so let's see where that takes us over the coming years.

To get a midweek flight means getting the aircraft in on a Tuesday to allow for a Wednesday Florence service to allow for a decent city break as the alternate scenerio (i.e. as it currently stands) would be out on a Friday to return on the Sunday afternoon. It needs them to have faith in having a based aircraft for a longer period but maybe if they get decentish loads again next year it could happen.

Strange that the press release seems to imply ALC and NCE are new next summer for MAN? Perhaps meant to be FLR and whatever appears for Sunday mornings?

The MAN FLR times are as already discussed.

The MAN-DUB flights are:

BA4475 DUB 2220 MAN 2315 Friday’s
BA4474 MAN 0955 DUB 1055. Sunday’s

This will be where the 2nd based aircraft comes from. And the 3rd one goes out to.

Still space to run a flight 0600-1400 on Sunday if they wish.

That’s 32 weekly flights so far.

What can be reached in that slot on Sunday? I suppose it may just be slack in the system...

I'd guess anywhere within 3 hours of flying time like southern Italy maybe or Faro maybe. Another possibility could be a weekly Gibraltar or Seville maybe?

I think the gap is from 1300 on Saturday and not one on Sunday.

There are three arrivals on Saturday between 1200 and 1300 but only two subsequent departures. So it could be possible to do two return flights to somewhere within a duration of say six to seven hours.

There is. The gap from 1310 sat until 0900 on Sunday. But I have assumed that the aircraft in question does the same as last year and acts as a spare back up aircraft for the network.

The gap I refer to is from the fully used 2nd aircraft. This arrives 2310 on Sat from JMK but then doesn’t depart until 1445 to IbBZ on Sunday. We can assume that said aircraft would start its day at 0540-0600 as usual, and need to be back at MAN by 1400, so, in those 7 hours could do a NCE/LIN (LIN is served from STN 2 weekly so in the remit), or if they push the departure to say, 0450,they could do a FAO.

There are three departures Sunday morning

0540 ALC Gets back 1220
0555 PMI Gets back 1210
0955 DUB NOT TO RETURN

the 1220 or 1210 arrival then goes to IBZ at 1445 not to return. Therefore I can't see the Sunday gap

I’ve put the ALC in by accident I think, not sure how as there is no Sunday ALC? Unless I’ve seen it on chroma?

Ok. I was basing by comments on your timings above. If the Sunday ALC doesn't run then there is as you say a gap there.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
