Weren't they just for the rugby?
Yeah I believe they havnt removed DUB from the booking engine since the rugby flights! Happy to be proved wrong though!

In other EI news, on Sunday 5th March they will be offering an additional flight, I believe Ulster will be playing Cardiff in rugby so could be related to that

I was told that it was taken down after the rugby and then re-added later.

Aer Lingus have put the Belfast City route onsale for winter 23/24 up too the end of January 2024.
The route will be 5 weekly. Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. With the exception of Xmas week where there'll be no flights on Xmas Eve and Xmas Day (Sunday and Monday) but flights on Boxing day and the 27th (Tuesday and Wednesday). There'll also be an extra flight for 2/1/24 which is a Tuesday.

EI have increase BHD to daily now for Winter. Excellent news!
Hopefully FR aren't having too much of an effect, or even maybe not returning. If EI continue to grow we could start to see double daily on certain peak days.
For November, December and March. January and February are still 5 weekly with no flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Still good news though!

Aer Lingus have put flights onsale to Dublin for 2024 Six Nations. At the moment there's 3 departures on 23/2/24, 2 on 24/2/23 and 3 on 25/2/23.
I got very excited by this as I have a hotel booked in DUB that weekend, however the price of the flights is absolutely astounding! The cheapest return with EI is coming in at £413.09 for their basic fare... (for comparison the same dates with FR are £438.08)

:sneaky:

I'd imagine that at the moment many of the seats may have well been taking up by tour operators. Hopefully there'll be increase in capacity over time.

Definitely supply and demand - it's a huge event we are talking about. Nothing different to things like Wimbledon, or Trade Fairs in FRA - prices get hiked rediculously

Could always look at Ryanair from Bristol, flights around that weekend start at about half that price

They are still way too overpriced for my liking for the nicer timed flights. I’d be inclined to use LHR or even BHX where they’re much more sensible prices…

Or just knock it on the head and save the money!

:ROFLMAO: ;)

Well hopefully Ryanair will add capacity at Cardiff as well.
This is almost guaranteed - an absolute cash machine is the Six Nations! (y)

Sean M on Twitter/X has been sharing news of reduced capacity between BHD and MAN, as well that various other Airports.
I’m holding my breath here, but with reductions on other routes could that mean a small possibility of an increase in frequency on BHD-CWL? Maybe even a new route to Dublin or Cork.

Fingers crossed 🤞

I might be reading too far into this, but I’ve noticed that the aer lingus website lets you select any future date for CWL-DUB. Just a few weeks ago you could only select the weekend dates for the six nations. To me, it either suggests a potential full time route, or they have set the dates temporarily for next years six nations.

Interesting. It does say "The timetable for these flights has not been released yet"

I would think nothing of this and that it states/allows this as the route does operate - on selected dates.

When searching the actual timetable section is clearly states "This route does not operate in the month selected" (for all future months)

However, I think a morning rotation to DUB would be great for the EI Trans-Atlantic connections!

We live in hope.

:giggle:

EIR winter 24/25 CWL-BHD on sale at 5 weekly (no service on Tuesdays or Wednesdays) at the same timings.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
