[textarea]Vueling Edinburgh – Barcelona flights ready for takeoff

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling is gearing up for its first flights connecting Scotland and Spain with the start of its new direct route between Edinburgh and Barcelona tomorrow. The three times weekly flights will complement the airline’s existing UK operations from Heathrow to Bilbao, La Coruna and Seville.

From June 24 to September 12 the airline will operate Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday departures from Barcelona at 11:30, arriving into Edinburgh Airport at 13:15 and from Edinburgh at 13:50, arriving at Barcelona at 17:25. Fares starting from £54 (€65) one way, all taxes included.

Edinburgh-originating passengers will also be able to make through connections on to other destinations in the Vueling network from July 5, when the airline’s connections programme, centred on its Barcelona hub, launches. Passengers travelling from Edinburgh to Barcelona will be able to book onward flights from Edinburgh (with the convenience of through checking their bags to their ultimate destination) to Alicante, Asturias, Bilbao, Grenada, Ibiza, Malaga, Mallorca, Menorca, Santiago and Seville.
