I'm really not sure where Flybe are headed - they seem to keep changing what they are wanting to do. I would have said their recent focus has been on consolidation rather than expansion.

The C Series would be quite an increase in capacity on most of Flybe's aircraft, but it could work for them on some of their main routes.

Apparently, Embraer are considering whether or not to design a new turboprop aircraft, so depending on EIS and capacity that may be an option...?

I have mixed feelings about Flybe.

On one hand they are doing great trade on transfers at MAN, the facility has never been busier.

In the other hand, are all these codeshares making money? These make me think of the bmi days before they went bust, with about 20 codeshares per flight.

I find them a very chop and change airline

Yes, it would be interesting to know. The CAA provisional stats for November don't seem to be out yet. They should give an indication once we can determine the number flights that operated.

Hi Land23R and Aceshigh

With reference to how well our new Southend route is performing I see the pax figures nearly every shift. I have not seen above 40 inbound or outbound yet, commonly as low as 15 and up to just above 30 on each rotation.

My Flybe colleague I work with says it was set up for a specific large company near Southend presumably meaning their employees use the route on a regular basis but the name escapes me.

There are transfer pax to other Flybe flights through the Manchester hub off the Southend flight travelling domestically only so they don't use the Transfer facility where I work. I haven't seen an international transfer off the flight but I suppose it will happen. My brother and a friend also had a day trip there using the early and late rotations.

Cheers everyone from Bilko.

I'll be filling up one of them seats on the Manchester-Southend route in early February. Won a free return-trip after taking part in the competition that was been run by Stobart Group, London Southend Airport and Flybe. Will give you a head count when the time comes...
Sadly wont be using the return ticket as decided wanted to get home quicker, so booked onto the British Airways shuttle from Heathrow into Leeds.

I am not sure "shuttle", "BA" and "LBA" can be used in the same sentence now!

Hope it doesn't get cancelled !

Luxembourg has been extended until July. Will operate 6 weekly in the summer.

Seems a very strange demographic on this route that requires wired ‘route extensions’ and said extensions always generate a bit of press coverage.

Clearly someone is keeping that route going, be interesting to know who.

Looks like the GLA route is 4 daily Tuesday to Friday from the summer timetable. Knock is daily, Nantes 3 weekly (wasn't this at least 4 weekly?), Lyon is 5 weekly with Toulouse daily.
Are these increases or decreases then?

Flew MAN-SOU yesterday - 49 onboard a dash 8

GLA is 3 daily now from Monday to Friday. Think Toulouse and Knock gained frequency but Lyon may be down. Not worked out what the other routes are like.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
