Looks like the plan to offer a 2 daily MAN-SEn has been resurrected.

And there was flybe saying they wouldn't be opening stupid routes en-masse again!

Wouldn't Stobart Air operate that?

It will be Stobart air but under the flybe umbrella and utilising flybe connections/booking site etc.

It's been even announced that the MAN-Scotland routes will continue after the loganair split.

They will be taken care of by Eastern Airways, operating under a Flybe franchise code.

I'm not too hot on Flybe schedules due to their haphazard 'chop and change' method of business, but as an example, ABZ seems to be 6 daily.

Guessing they are going to use Saab 2000s? That could explain the rumours about Flybe leasing Eastern Airways Saabs!

Not Manchester news as such but hugely significant given the network here.

Interesting that there was no mention of the Heathrow routes. I would have expected an upbeat message on these on terms if access/underlying growth.

These do chisel at the margins potentially taking traffic that might use Manchester connectivity instead.

Just suprised they still havn't indicated how well they are doing. This would have been an opportunity.

17 weekly from 29th October.

Given many predicted the demise of MAN-LON when the west coast main line was improved, to think we are back at a situation where we have flights to 3 London airports once more is crazy!

I'm trying to think which other London airport, apart from Heathrow, would give you 3 destinations?

It is indeed LCY with 1 inbound and 2 outbound flights. I know they are glorified positioner flights, but, it is a regular scheduled link to LCY all the same.

Yes of course I had forgotten that service, although as you say it is not a full service route. It will be interesting to see figures once the CAA start to include the route in the monthly stats.

I believe It will be an ATR72 operating (but may be E195) as follows:

BE6230 SEN 0640 MAN 0745
BE6231 MAN 0845 SEN 0945

BE6236 SEN 1440 MAN 1550
BE6237 MAN 1700 SEN 1810

BE6238 SEN 1835 MAN 1940
BE6239 MAN 2040 SEN 2150

Mon-Fri

Schedule varies over the weekend based on the month.

I wonder if this route is to replace Norwich after Loganair and Flybe go their seperate ways?

It could be possible that the morning rotation and the evening rotation are on the E195 and then Flybe can do a European rotation or 2 shorter ones in the middle of it. At CWL each of the E195s generally does a double daily flight to DUB and EDI one in the morning and the other late afternoon or evening. They may schedule the E195 similar at SEN but to MAN. It also would give them the opportunity to change aircraft when needed at their MAN base maybe crews as well.

The Eastern ops are as follows:

BE2990 A 06:45 M T W T F . .

BE2991 D 08:40 M T W T F . .

BE2992 A 09:55 . . . . . Sa .

BE2992 A 10:20 M T W T . . .

BE2993 A 11:20 . . . . . . Su

BE2993 D 11:35 . . . . . Sa .

BE2993 D 12:05 M T W T . . .

BE2994 D 13:20 . . . . . . Su

BE2994 A 14:40 . T W T F . .

BE2995 D 16:35 . T W T F . .

BE2996 A 18:45 M T W T F . Su

BE2997 D 20:45 M T W T F . Su

Luxembourg route ceases in October. AMS down to 4 daily weekday.

Hope Norwich stays. It is surely a different market ?

Must be a lot easier to connect NWI to US via MAN than flying back to AMS ?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
