Garry Monk new manager after the Forest game allegedly
Despite being a Villa fan,I have enormous sympathy for what BCFC and WBA fans are going through. After seeing what has happened to Villa in the last few years, there are similarities to the situation at both of those clubs.
The worrying thing is how long it will take to get back on track.
I believe, unlike WBA,that Birmingham have a chance of staying in the championship.A win,no matter how it is achieved could be the catalyst to a decent run to the end of the season.
Getting that win though is another matter.
I believe normally that continually changing the manager is the worst thing you can do.Getting rid of G.Rowett when you did was the worst axing of a manager I remember in our area for many years, but you don’t need me to tell you that.
WBA are as good as relegated. They have too many points to make up just to reach the same points as the two teams above them.
The football scene in our region is pathetic right now. Only Wolves seem to be going anywhere, but even that is not as comfortable as it was.
I am not confident about Villas chances of automatic promotion, and going through the play offs could go either way.
At least Walsall got a good win today, and that was much needed.
Agree with the sentiment. As a Villa fan, I would like to see both the Blues and Baggies do well, except against Villa.

Absolutely agree with this. After 55yrs of supporting Villa I have never quite got the hatred between the two sets of fans. Surely it would be better for the region to have 3 successful teams regularly competing at the top level. It would be great for us spotters too. Imagine regular foreign visitors for European ties. Maybe I'll wake up in a minute!!(y)

Whilst a lifelong Bluenose, I would love to all greater Birmingham clubs doing well. Look how Manchester is famous around the world because of Manchester United? Most people wouldn't even know where it is or of its any other great delights, but they have heard of it sfootball teams.

What will be announced first: new Blues boss or new BHX boss?

Fifth new manager in fifteen months.

Whether we stay up or go down I think they now have to give him time to rebuild.

Welcome Garry Monk and best of luck, you're going to need it.

First game is against his last club. Interesting. Begs the question: was he lined up before Cotterill went? If so I feel for Steve.

Welcome Gary. All we ask is give your best and eek some dosh out of the board in the summer.....if 'arry left us with any.

A new manager ever 3 months say no more. I was only joking about putting me dog in charge but I'm thinking of sending it to have a little chat with the owners, it's a Bull Terrier cross so can get its point over.

Honestly I despair at the present time.

There’s normally an upturn in performance when a new gaffer takes over.
Good luck.

We could put eleven dummies out and get an improvement, oops hang on we've alreay tried that..
I'd like to be more constructive but it's a bit difficult at these times, anyway fingers crossed for tomorrow I live in hope.
Keep right on even though I'm tired and weary.

I wish some clubs would have the guts to stick with managers/head coaches or whatever they call them these days. With the number of managers who get the sack each season it's an unarguable fact that the replacements can't all be successful with their new clubs in terms of gaining promotion or avoiding relegation (there are too many of them), which in the overwhelming majority of cases is why they are brought in.

Today's society demands instant success in all sorts of fields instead of having patience. I hope that my local team (Bristol City) will prove this season that sticking with an initially unsuccessful manager (or head coach as the red BCFC chief is called) will reap dividends. Most owners would have sacked Lee Johnson after last season's avoidance of relegation by a hair's breadth. Until the last few weeks he has been a revelation this season. I hope that Saturday's 4-0 win over an admittedly dire Sheffield Wednesday (whatever happened to them this season?) will put them back on the winning path. Even if promotion is not achieved a play-off place would be a tremendous effort after last season and perhaps a signal to other club owners that sacking is not an instant panacea. Steve Lansdown the billionaire Bristol City owner deserves to be rewarded for his loyalty.

Steve Cotterill is an excellent lower league manager but he seems to hit a wall at Championship level. He managed to get Bristol City into the Championship from League One at a canter three years ago but found tier 2 more difficult. He was intransigent in the Championship with team selection, formations and tactics when things were going dreadfully wrong and eventually lost the fans and it seemed the dressing room. Lee Johnson arrived and kept them up that season but struggled last season. As already remarked, this season has been a turn-around.

Monk did a decent job at Swansea in the Prem to begin with but has not really put his mark on his clubs since then. He and The Blues might be a mutually good fit - we shall soon see.

Successful as they have been in post for a long time, or been in post for a long time because they are successful?

Fingers crossed the fightback starts tonight.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
