Im sure if VY has another successful season out of CWL, Im sure we can all see the likes of AGP and ALC having a very strong case for daily flights, who knows; maybe CWL can tempt VY to base a few aircraft to make this happen!

VY has built up a good customer base here in South Wales, and has a very strong brand recognition; something which hasn't worked as well at places like EDI, MAN, BHX etc. You would think out of all the above, CWL does have a strong case for more frequencies and routes from VY.
I don't think CWL will get a base but if VY can add more aircraft to their bases at ALC and AGP then i don't see why they can't go 7 weekly on each route.
As for new routes i wonder if they are now watching how Rome is doing with Flybe and jump on that, maybe they would look at Florence eventually? I believe they have bases in Seville and Valencia and Bilbao but would they look at CWL for them? Ibiza is seasonal base but that could be an option. 1 route which is probably under served from CWL is Lanzarote but i don't know if Vueling base at ACE or just overnight aircraft there same with the rest of the Canary Islands routes.

I had a look to see how many aircraft Vueling base at AGP, ALC and PMI in the summer based roughly on early morning departures. I used a week in August.
Malaga looks like 5 based aircraft, Alicante looks like 4 based aircraft and Palma de Mallorca looks like 2 based aircraft. With PMI it looks like a lot of it's routes are operated by non based aircraft and BCN based aircraft. Considering how big Vueling is as an airline i'm surprised that the Malaga and Alicante bases are that small but looking at the routes offered the UK is a massive gap in their network from those airports.
I think if Cardiff is to get more frequencies then either Vueling will have to drop Copenhagen from Malaga and St Petersburg from Alicante as along with Cardiff they seem the 'odd' routes for their network or base extra aircraft at each base.

The aircraft overnighting for Vueling is EC-LQK according to FR24. Anyone know if this will be the first Vueling to overnight at CWL?

Not by a long shot. There may have been at least one other scheduled overnight at CWL because of technical issues if I remember correctly.

There has also been several overnight Vueling flights for charters. (Super Cup Final) and think there was 1 x A321 and 1 x A320 for Six Nations or World Cup.

Does anyone know when vueling are likely to release next summer 's schedule?
The first release of Summer 18 was in September 2017 i believe so i'd imagine it will be around the same time. It will be interesting to see if there is any increases or a new route.

Cheers jerry am looking to book family holiday to majorca in may/june so wasnt sure when they were on sale & yes will be interesting to see if they expand at all as this year was static

Fingers crossed they will add some frequencies to each of their routes. I'd be very surprised if they added a new route but i don't think anyone saw TUI adding an extra aircraft so maybe they'll surprise us!

Ibiza would be a nice addition any idea how many Aircraft vueling have based there, I know its seasonal
Looks like 1, but i'd imagine they would use a BCN based aircraft like a lot of the PMI flights are.

Well my plans for the trip to Portland for 4th July have fallen through and i had to cancel it:(. So i decided to pull forward a trip i was planning to do in October and do it in July. I'll be flying with Vueling for the first time to Barcelona for a day of spotting and then flying back via Amsterdam and will do some spotting during the transit at Schipol. £38 one way for the Vueling flight.
Never flown Vueling before so i'm really looking forward to seeing what they are like!
Also i'll definitely be booking the lounge to see what that is like!

I'm sorry to hear of your Portland plans having to be changed. Nevertheless, the Barcelona trip sounds good.

Hoping to reschedule it for Thanksgiving now, it's unfortunate but can't be helped. Barcelona should be great, lots of different airlines and i've never flown Vueling before and looking forward to seeing what they are like.
We look forward to your snaps jerry!
Thanks!

Vueling have released their flights for April and May 2019 and at the moment it looks the same as this year.
Barcelona 3 weekly Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Alicante 5 weekly Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
Malaga 5 weekly Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Palma de Mallorca 4 weekly Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
It's early days and things can change so hopefully they'll add extra frequencies later on in the year.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
