At 2.25 pm today, I saw a large airliner passing northeast abeam LBA, heading east so roughly towards Ottringham. I guess about FL150, descending. Any clues to its identity or destination ?
Might have been a 757 or 767.

Thankyou.

Just had a quick look using the FR24 'playback' feature, and the only aircraft I can see that matches your description is Emirates flight EK36 from Newcastle to Dubai, operated by a Boeing 777. (See here: https://fr24.com/2018-07-10/13:26/12x/UAE36/1d132a66)

There was an air tanker over the North Sea off East Anglia at about 11 this morning doing a holding pattern at 2,900 ft. which it held for over an hour.

That would have been fuelling the aircraft before lining up for the RAF 100 flypast over London this morning then again on their way back home to Coningsby or Lossie etc

Thanks everyone. It could well have been the Emirates NCL-DXB then, although climbing rather than descending.

Interestingly enough I've just seen the same flight operating in the opposite direction as it headed NW over Headingley and Cookridge, on its way up to NCL...
