I don`t think they are interested to be honest as they are building fortress Manchester and
I can`t see them splitting the operation as that will add to the costs

I'm not even sure it's a good move for LPL now for Jet2 to be there, better to keep building on Blue Air.

They did have a Blackpool operation before the airport closed, which is obviously much smaller than Liverpool, but they seemed happy there.

I think Blue Air is better for Liverpool to concentrate on. Of course you never know Ryanair goes from LBA LPL and MAN

Trying to remember ...maybe 5 routes. I used it once to Alicante. I beleive Jet2 had a unsustainable deal with BLK. I don't think the airport did well out of them

I was a bit surprised why Blue Air went to PMI AGP and ALC for med destinations when there are others they might pick and have to themselves , like Mahon is unseved this year. Unless it's just easier to fill and to get brand better known.

PMI, ALC and AGP are routes that generally from most UK airports an airline would struggle to not make money on even with competition on the route.

Yes true, it probably a safer bet too to begin with. I understand they are doing particularly well on their Rome service.

I wonder if Flybe might work better than Jet2 at Liverpool on European routes which are not offered by FR or EZY
They'd have to operate them on a W pattern or maybe use the BHD flight as i can't see them basing. They do something similar with Dusseldorf at Leeds.

Flybe are reducing not growing at present so I cannot really see any increase at Liverpool

I was thinking of Med routes, so jet would be needed the Q400 would be too small. They would need to pick destinations not well served by Ryan or Easy, as I think they would struggle.

There are a number of routes that are running at 90+ % full, and more capacity is needed. Tenerife is one that's like that, only think being 4 hours each way, ties a plane up for a long time

The likes of easyJet and Ryanair operate many routes at airports with year-round load factors above 90% but they often don't increase frequencies, presumably because although there might be a demand the overall yield would suffer. I can quote specific examples of Ryanair axing routes where the monthly load factors have been consistently well above 90%. It can only be the yield: either it's not high enough for Ryanair or there are better options elsewhere either at other airports or on other routes at the airport where the route was dropped.

I really can't think of any other explanation.

It doesn't really help the passengers or airports when fares are high and scrabbling for seats. Demand will increase next year with new direct Cheshire /Welsh rail services coming to South Parkway.

problem for Liverpool is EZY and FR are too MAN focused, there's plenty of demand just need right carriers.

After a long trek to and from London last weekend because Euston was closed. I would have welcomed an air link. Got me thinking about it, which airport , ok LHR is good for connections, but getting into the centre is a drag on the tube, or mighty expensive on Heathrow Express, Stansted and Luton not sure , if fare was right maybe. London City, nice and close and cheap DLR but limited onward possibilities, plus VLM flew there in the past.

I wondered about SEN however the train to Liverpool Street I understand is not that quick, and again onward connections limited. Plus tried by flybe from MAN and being dropped, maybe it might have worked better from here.

So I think Gatwick is probably the best, there is no connection from NW, very good rail into centre and fast, plus quite a lot of onward possibilities.

Of course Euston isn't normally shut, and the train does it in just over 2 hours city centre to city centre which is hard to beat. It can still be pretty expensive and with just one an hour off peak, it must keep fares high, unless you want to change. Apparently a second service is suggested, but there is a problem with train paths, or not enough of them.

So Perhaps a London air link would still be useful, until then I'm hoping for no more Euston closures !

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
