Looking at the flybe winter 2019/20 timetable it looks like the Leeds/Bradford - Southampton route goes fully jet service with Eastern Airways using the Embraer 145 on the route starting from Sunday, October 27th. As things stand the last planned Saab 2000 flight operates on Friday, October 25th.

I'll say it again! A 145 is an expensive piece of kit to have idle during the day so hopefully (insolvency permitting) someone has the sense to do something with it!

To be honest with you the based Eastern Airways aircraft doesn't seem sit idle that often in between its LBA-SOU scheduled duties, As it's frequently positioning out and back in after operating football team charter flights during the day or over the weekends..

It would be nice if Eastern started a Munich service with the E145 during the 'idle' time at Leeds. Possibly a through service from Southampton ie SOU-LBA-MUC-LBA-SOU. BMi thought a Leeds Munich service would be viable although of course they already had a Munich presence which makes a difference.

The Newquay route may have had to be cancelled as it was normally operated on the E-195 (at least most of the time) and with those aircraft being removed from the fleet other airports may need the Q-400 which the route would be operated on.

The E jet that used to operate NQY-LGW only used to do 3 daily flights. The Q400 does 4 to LHR. It may be that NQY will return for the summer.

The current LBA-NQY flights during the summer schedule on Tuesday & Friday are operated by a BHX based Dash 8 on W-leg as follows BHX-NQY-LBA-NQY-BHX
The Sunday flights is operated by a BFS based aircraft that operates as follows BFS-LBA-NQY-LBA-BFS.

I wonder if Eastern might be tempted to pick it up and operate it summer seasonal only under the Flybe franchise like they do with the SOU-LBA route? Here's hoping so.

Flybe are starting to do some schedule changes across the network taking effect from mid June. Based on GDS info this is some airports losing based aircraft but not routes. LBA has a few minor time changes for now and nothing more. Perhaps this is the new consortium getting their teeth into things. These only started coming through yesterday hence my very generic post on the subject for now

Note the E.U. have stated they will announce this Friday their judgement on approving the Flybe/Connect Airways deal.
Whilst I can see shareholding issues in the future, surely no issues with this deal at the moment under existing E.U. legislation.

Rumour has it we are keeping our NQY service through the winter, op Mon and Fri. Anyone know more for definite?

I heard that the hope was it would return as and when a certain airline had sorted out its crewing issues.

Looks like its a similar arrangement to some of the current rotations with the BHD aircraft doing a leg to NQY so it is at the expense of BHD rotations.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
