Bit of a risk though. No-one can be certain until the day which flights will be cancelled. Someone might shell out for a ticket they don't want in the hope or expectation that the flight will be cancelled in order to get their paws on a bit of compensation, and then be left with an unwanted flight on their hands and with no compensation if the flight operates. Here is a thought. There is undeniably money to be made from flight cancellations under EU law. About euro 350 per flight. Is there a racket that no one has paid attention to. Airline staff are well placed to know which flights and which sector will suffer from crew issues. It is well known that EZY have crew issues towards the end of the annual leave period. So an insider trading type racket could avail of ticket purchasing in those sectors with the highest likelihood of cancellations and then scoop up all the EU reg compensations. Obviously done by 3rd partys.
Has no one thought about this?
The risk/reward ratio doesn't sound attractive to me.
