It has been mentioned elsewhere that some Swiss flights are showing as regular A319/320 throughout September and October. It could be going to the CS300 as they are to replace many A319 routes?

Swiss says it has resumed all flight operations after it grounded its entire fleet of A220 aircraft on Tuesday.
“As of today [Thursday], Swiss flight operations are resumed on a regular basis, meaning all 29 A220 aircraft have been inspected (with no findings) and released,” a spokesperson told Business Traveller.
Around 100 flights were cancelled this week, affecting 10,000 passengers, after Swiss took the decision to ground the A220s following what it called “technical irregularities” on various short-haul flights.
Swiss said there have been three “incidents” since July 25 involving the aircraft, but added that it could not make further statements about the cause as it was coordinating with engine manufacturers Pratt and Whitney as well as Airbus Canada.
It also said: “The safety of our customers and crews is our top priority.
“We very much regret the inconveniences for our passengers. Swiss will actively inform affected passengers if contact details were provided at the time of booking. They will be rebooked to the best possible alternative at Swiss’s expense.
“In addition, tickets of passengers who were/are booked on a cancelled flight can be rebooked or refunded free of charge.”
The Lufthansa group airline has 20 of the A220-300 variant and nine of the A220-100.
The A220 is a single-aisle plane that was formerly known as the Bombardier C Series before Airbus took a majority stake in the project.
“Together with the engine maker we are supporting our customer in its daily operations,” an Airbus spokesman told Bloomberg by email.
 
Swiss showing a return to BHX from the start of the winter timetable 25th October, 5 flights a week ( no service Tuesday/Saturday), until at least mid February 2021, where they should increase to daily.

Blimey, this is going to be a slow one to watch. Still only daily next spring ? :unsure:

To be fair, in 2019 there were ~97,000 passengers between BHX and ZRH. A daily A220-300 (CS300) could carry that many with a 92% LF.

A daily E190 would carry 85% of the passengers the route saw last year, so to have even a daily flight by spring is a win on this one IMHO!

Yes indeed, but the advantage with the Swiss schedule was that anyone flying on business could fly out of BHX in the morning, have a meeting in Zurich, then catch the evening flight back to BHX, and vice versa. With only a daily flight, that means a stay overnight & catching the flight back the following day, or most likely a trip to LHR or MAN to avoid the overnight stay, and thus BHX loses passengers, and the Swiss flights just wont be as full. Chicken & Egg situation!

Depends on the person's schedule. My sister used to fly a lot for work to Europe and practically every time she overnighted. Mostly she would fly late afternoon and evening and overnighted even for destinations like Dublin and Paris.
 
I think as an airline they are struggling and done the right thing and found quite a bit of extra work to tide themselves over

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
