ASL Airlines Boeing 737/400 OE-IBI(Quality 1476) being vectored onto ILS runway 14(0850) inbound from Shannon
Horses for Ebor Meeting at York
I was lucky enough to be just driving towards the tunnel on my way to shopping, when this 737 was touching down in front of me. It was moving so quickly I only was able to see it was a 737, blue/white livery & a cargo version. Thanks for confirming what it was twevsmiff.

While I have been away on holiday for a week, from the old coal mines of South Yorkshire to the old tin mines of Cornwall, five new Boeing 737-800 registrations from Malta Air and Ryanair Sun have made first visits to LBA.

14 August 2020, 9H-QDF, RYR85XL-4QY, from and to Pisa (ex EI-FTE 19 October 2016).

16 August 2020, SP-RKT, RYR1EL-2332, from and to Kraków (ex EI-GDH 07 February 2019).

17 August 2020, 9H-QBI, RYR39AK-RA, from and to Luqa (ex EI-FIV 20 December 2015).

17 August 2020, 9H-QCA, RYR85XL-4QY, from and to Pisa (ex EI-FOO 04 August 2016).

18 August 2020, SP-RKQ, RYR1EL-2332, from and to Kraków (ex EI-GDI 12 July 2018).

The previous first visits when operated by Ryanair are in (brackets).

And later this afternoon (if the wind permits) Malta Air Boeing 737-800 9H-QCC will make a first visit operating RYR39AK from Luqa. The airframe previously visited when operated by Ryanair as EI-FOR on 12 April 2016.

This aircraft did land at the "third" attempt however on departure for the return to Pisa is ingested a bird shortly after take and made an immediate diversion to Manchester

It wasn't that aircraft that ingested the bird, it was the earlier arrival from Pisa.
Barnsleyholidays' post is referring to the late afternoon arrival from Luqa (Malta) which landed first time and didn't eat birds on take off.

The lovely weather is resulting in some different departure routings this afternoon. Both the Jet2 to Paphos and to Split have just departed off 14 then turned right instead of the usual left and headed to the SE directly overhead me in Cookridge. Nice to hear (no chance if seeing).

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
