Looking at Wizz schedule and there are 3 gaps.
Tuesday between Alicante and Faro. Alicante arrives 11.40 but Faro doesn't depart until 18.25. Potential 4 and a half hour sector.
Other gap is Thursday and Sunday. So potential for a 7 hour sector from 06.05 to 13.15.
Not sure what could fill Tuesday gap but i'm wondering if it does well enough this winter if Milan could be an option for Thursday and Sunday?

Probably won't know until the stats come out.

Starting to think that Wizz returning to CWL might not be on the cards after all...

They seem to be recruiting cabin crew for LTN and LGW at the moment, both of which have been year-round bases.

Given that CWL is meant to re-open in just under 3 months, there's no sign of them recruiting (and a very tight schedule to get people on-line if/when they do).

Being prime cabin crew recruitment and training season (across various airlines), it seems strange they are not - and I know for a fact that a fair few of them left when the base closed last year...unless of course they are fast tracking those who maybe wanted to come back this year?

Only Wizz know what's up - and only time will tell. But I sincerely hope they do give it a go again!

Why put flights onsale if you don't intend to operate them? You'd have to refund a lot of customers. It's quite possible that crew could be recruited as officially Luton based but still work out of Cardiff and they might still have Cardiff based crew still working for them or willing to come back.

It's a very interesting point and something to keep an eye on. There'd a lot of nervousness about wizz this year and there's no way they'd already be fully recruited.

Maybe they're planning on using London based crew more in case this summer isn't as successful.

I am Cardiff based crew and I would love to know where you got your information from? You said you know for a fact a fair few left? We lost 2 crew the rest of us are currently working oob waiting to return to Cardiff in March

Good news to hear that most of the crew haven't left and are waiting to return in March. If they only have a few places to fill then recruitment days aren't really needed.

Atm they don't have any places to fill as in September we were over crewed by a few at Cardiff. They also still have a bunch in the holding pool. Cardiff is well staffed 😊

How does recruitment work for Wizz? I know that Jet2 do what they call "ask back" , when at the end of the summer season they call staff in for a meeting. Staff who have performed well are told they can return the follow summer season without an interview. This only applies to seasonal colleagues. Does Wizz UK do something similar?

No because wizz isn't seasonal mate.

That's good news. Is that the same for Pilots?
Yes it is, can I ask where you got your poor source of information from mate regarding your post about a fair few crew leaving and Cardiff needing to recruit?

I didn't say anyone had left, that was another poster.

I said I didn't think they'd be fully recruited assuming like most Airlines seasonal bases that there'd be a need for some level of new recruits, which you've obviously confirmed is sorted.

Yeah I do apologise I got the wrong person 🙈 Cardiff isn't a seasonal base with seasonal crew so yeah everything is all good for this year 😊

And now there’s no Wizz air flights on sale for when they’re due to return…

Another very sad day for CWL!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
