Antalya is an interesting one. A 6.48% increase which was fairly early season but in the top 25 by pax numbers. Be interesting to see how April 24 comes out with Sun Express on the route. Will also be interesting to see whether we need to play around with any Keflavik figures this time next year!!

As promised, and now today's Consultative Meeting has concluded, I can share the fiscal year passenger figures to date. These start w/e 16th April, rather than w/e 9th April. Not sure why w/e 9th haven't been provided, but the grand total figures appear to be inclusive of w/e 9th, otherwise the numbers don't add up.

I have provided each weeks passenger numbers for 2023/4.with the equivalent week last year (2022/3) in brackets for comparison purposes .

It was confirmed today that the airport passed 1m passengers for 2023/4 early w/e 25th April - almost certainly on the first day of that week.

w/e 16th April. 72, 299 (63,586)
w/e 23rd April 68,830 (62,421)
w/e 30th April 71,903. (60,758)
w/e 7th May. 77,857. (67,151)
w/e. 14th May. 84,201. (72,464)
w/e. 21st May. 85,806. (80,061)
w/e. 28th May. 96,179 (89,052)
w/e. 4th Jun. 102,145. (97,208)
w/e. 11th Jun. 100,750. (96,420)
w/e. 18th Jun. 103,178. (93,427)

Total. 999,156. (884,937)

448,449 passengers passed through LBA in June.

LBA have started publishing a monthly round up on Facebook showing passenger figures, number of flights, average security queuing time etc.

Nice to see. Superb passenger figures last month.
Looks like LBA have taken a leaf out of LPL’s book, very active on social media with updates and proving popular. I’m not complaining, great step forward. Hopefully be consistent every month.

Great post highlighting the recovery of UK airport compared to 2019. LBA in an amazing 4th place. Let’s atleast give some credit to the airport. No doubt a big percent has come from Wizz at the loss of DSA. Interesting to see EMA second lowest. I wonder why there is such a big change from 2019? Anybody know?

Keep this up and we might eventually get promoted to the UK's 13th biggest airport. In summer, it's getting that way. Winter, traditionally, undoes that. Jet2 going into LPL will however give them a major boost next year. In response, we get Sun Express plus ???

Credit to the LBA management for the recovery and also for convincing Wizz to operate to LBA once Doncaster bit the dust. With the terminal extension and other proposed improvements it’s looking good for the future. Also good to see the airport promoting themselves far more than in the past. Given the competition in the aviation business you’ve got to be proactive, pity LCC and the local MP’s don’t play their part, they’re like a dead weight trying to pull the airport down.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
