It looks like Air Canada is reacting to Westjet restarting services to/from Toronto by dropping prices substantially. Not just by a few quid. £400 or more cheaper compared to WS on certain dates. I suspected they would react in some way but this looks like a great time to book flights with AC.

More capacity from QR would be my guess. Either a third flight some days or a 777 on one of the existing flights.
This would be good certainly. Who knows….🤔. A few, currently unserved direct or non-stop destinations is on the bucket list. They currently are fairly well connected but could more than hold their own independently. 🤐

I think the rumour is via Timisoara, Romania using the A340 - I believe it is something to do with the charter company / aircraft being based / registered in Romania. Let’s hope all three rumoured airports get this link!

not one for giving cryptic clues of course but isn’t AI the in thing right now? 😜

Would be tight from what I know. Other aircraft are available of course. Very few places out of reach now.
Had thought the 'spice' comment referred to SpiceJet who are rumoured to be planning to serve MAN/BHX with an A340. But if it's AI instead then presumably a 787 could reach India direct from EDI given Hainan used one to reach PEK ok.

The Sikh community in Scotland is tiny in comparison with West Midlands and the South East. Seems like a strange choice.
No doubt it is. But there'll be plenty of India's burgeoning middle classes who want to visit Edinburgh, so presumably such a route would be aimed more at inbound visitors from there rather than outbound VFR traffic from here.

From Amritsar? I strongly doubt it. It is an almost exclusively VFR route from UK. As for AI, they are having enough difficulty finding a 787 for a proven lucrative route like MAN-BOM to commit to a speculative route from EDI.

Unless I'm missing something, nobody has mentioned Amritsar as a potential EDI Indian route. What's the basis for your assumption that it would be?

As for AI, they'll be adding 10 widebody aircraft to their fleet over the next six months and launching four international routes. Anyway, all this speculation is getting way ahead of itself so we'll see what happens.

i wonder if EDI will welcome TK’s “new“ low cost subsidiary in S24? The slots report suggest someone new is looking to enter the market!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
