Discussions relating to Liverpool Airport
Travelled last week to Malaga with Easyjet and back again last weekend.
No issues at check in or security, all very efficient.
Airport getting busier and it's very clean and tidy

We boarded from gate 2 and whilst the gate areas have been tidied up and looks more modern, the seating areas are so small...between gate 1 & 2 there was very little room and few seats! We were boarding an A320 which was almost full and there was a flight about to begin boarding next to us which looked quite full too, so I don't know what they were thinking in that respect!

Coming back, a long walk to immigration and then I was surprised to see still how small the hall is...whilst other areas of the airport have been extended and improved, immigration and the baggage hall are very small...especially if you have 2/3 full flights landing in close proximity!

Overall, impressed, but I hope improvements will be made in the future when funds are available, to the immigration and baggage hall areas.

Hopefully next year will be a better year for travel and funds maybe available.

Travelled to Faro on Monday afternoon. I noticed the terminal was busier with people that the last time I went through. Could be an indication that people are starting to travel again. The aircraft was id say 3/4 full. Travelled with Ryanair.

From Twitter today.

While we are aware of media coverage elsewhere, we want to reassure our passengers that we continue to see 15-20 mins queues through security throughout the day and are, therefore, asking passengers to arrive no more than 2.5 hours prior to their flight departure time.

Liverpool Airport featured favorably on tonights Panorama program about this summers airport chaos, Luton and Stansted also did well. Easyjet was criticized for cancellations and poor customer service.

Liverpool Airport has scored well from this years Whitch ? survey.

Well done Liverpool 👏

I feel pretty lucky having Liverpool Airport as my local airport. I'm a frequent flyer, and I really appreciate the ease of this airport, particularly security check, its always quick and staff are friendly.

I think last year Liverpool shared best airport with Exeter, so this time they have done well to improve on that.

Liverpool Airport now offers ‘Sensory Space’

By Ybnews on 16th January 2024
Airports can be chaotic, bustling environments and can present a challenge for children and adults with sensory or cognitive impairment – now Liverpool Airport is offering a helping hand. Tony McDonough reports

New ‘Sensory Space’ at Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) is offering a new ‘Sensory Space’ for passengers with sensory or cognitive impairment.
Airports can be chaotic, bustling environments and can present a challenge for some children and adults. Those with autism, for example, may find bright lights or loud noises overwhelming, stressful or uncomfortable.
Now LJLA has partnered with passenger assistance venture, ABM, to open the £35,000 facility in the departure lounge at the airport. It will allow people to relax and acclimatise to the busy airport environment before they fly.
This space has been created in partnership with local community business Autism Adventures and Alder Hey Hospital, who offered specialist advice that helped with the design of the room.
The development of the sensory space at the airport forms part of work carried out in partnership with a host of disability organisations who provide advice and support, including many that specialise in hidden disabilities.

LJLA also works closely with ABM who help to make the journey through the airport for passengers requiring assistance. has been rated as offering the highest ‘Very Good’ service by the UK Civil Aviation Authority for disabled and less mobile passengers.
The Sensory Space is wheelchair accessible and is located near to the picnic area in the departure lounge. It is open for bookings to be made between 8am to 6pm daily. Email [email protected]
Paul Staples, operations director for LJLA, said: “We know that heading off on holiday and being able to enjoy the journey can be challenging for some of our passengers, particularly families with someone who has a sensory or cognitive impairment.

“This space is a great facility and we would like to thank Autism Adventures and Alder Hey Hospital for all their help and advice in creating this space, which we’re confident will make a difference, helping families have a more relaxed start to their journey.
“By working with a host of disability organisations, we have continued the work we have been doing to enable passengers with a wide range of disabilities to take advantage of flying from Liverpool Airport.

I'm normally not a big fan on all things automated, but while Sat in Sable & Co in departures enjoying lunch, I noticed departure announcements have been switched to a new automated system. It's actually pretty good, clear and not too robotic .

I love the automated announcements at the Spanish airports. They're usually done in English and the language at the destination airport. Is it the same at LPL?
