Work is now underway to construct the new Aspire Executive Lounge at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) which will complete the latest multi-million pound phase of passenger improvements at the airport, ahead of the peak Summer season

Since first opening its doors in the heart of the airport’s busy Departure Lounge in May 2012, the Aspire Lounge, operated by Swissport has become so popular with airport users that despite a previous expansion and refurbishment, a new much larger facility is now needed to cater for the continued growing demand.

As a consequence, a new Aspire Executive Lounge is under construction that will be over three times the floor space of the existing facility and able to cater for twice as many guests with space for over 200.

In addition, the new lounge will feature a two-tiered offering, with guests able to choose either the usual classic Aspire facilities or upgrade to the Luxe by Aspire offer for the first time, with its private booths, communal workspace, premium snacks and drinks and is for adults only. The lounge will also include its own dedicated toilet facilities too for the first time.

“Airport lounges have seen a marked increase in demand from passengers looking for an elegant space to relax, whether for business or pleasure,” says David Collyer, Global Senior Vice President of Executive Lounges at Swissport International.

“The addition of ‘Luxe by Aspire’ will mark a real step-change in delivering the premium service our guests are looking for. We look forward to creating a truly exceptional lounge experience in Liverpool, where travellers can unwind or work, all while enjoying the luxury of a premium hotel atmosphere.”

Open from 4am through to 9pm the lounge will be available to all passengers, bookable online in advance to ensure available space, as well as accepting various popular priority passes and tour operator inclusive bookings and is expected to be welcoming its first passengers before this summer’s peak period.

Work has been ongoing throughout the winter period to develop various food and beverage areas within the Departure Lounge ahead of the summer season, with the new Monty’s Diner and the refurbished Kissing Gate Bar and Kitchen having both recently opened, along with other new and refurbished coffee shop facilities opening in the coming weeks.

Lucy O'Shaughnessy LJLA’s Commercial Director commented, “With a nod to the City’s iconic Liver Building, this fantastic new lounge will have a look and feel that will reflect the area and city region.

The increased capacity and improved facilities will have a real premium feel, giving those passengers looking for somewhere special to relax before their departure, a great start to their journey from Liverpool.

We are also creating a space that will be able to accommodate the growing numbers of passengers using Liverpool both now and into the future too.”

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
